I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I’ve loved it every time. The sesame chicken is always a hit. The waiters even know us and our orders. The decor is so unique too, love the comfy booths and fun artwork. Don’t sleep on their ice cream either!

I finally decided to check this place out last Thursday. Food was great. I ordered veggie spring rolls with a chili sauce and Chicken & Broccoli with a brown garlic sauce. It’s usually difficult nowadays to find a spot that makes this dish and other similar ones this good. Chicken was juicy and tender made just right. They do have just enough parking available behind the restaurant. The time I ate there was early afternoon so it was a nice relaxed setting. I wish the prices were a little lower. (Just my opinion)

My son wanted to try Baumgart’s tonight for dinner. Nicole, our server, was very nice, polite, engaging, and attentive. I had the Szechuan shrimp which was very good. My son had the sesame chicken which he said was also very good. Portions were on the larger side. I was very pleased with the dinner tonight. I would definitely go back.

We’ve been dining at Baumgart’s for 10+ years, the food is consistently delicious and the staff great (Nicole and team) – highly recommend either eat in or take out. We love the big bowl soups and the chef’s recommendations always a solid choice.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it’s been my favorite place for Chinese food all these years. The quality of the food is fantastic and I think it’s gotten better over time! Their sesame chicken was my favorite as a kid and since I became a pescatarian, their sesame tofu has become my favorite! They always managed to make their chicken so crisp and they do the same with their tofu! And the sesame sauce is my favorite I’ve had. Highly recommend!!!

Overall:
I love their menu at least all the things I have tried so far they have fantastic vegetable options that actually are delicious.
Their ice cream is so amazingly creamy and the flavors are blend well if you like multiple flavors to have two different flavor scoops like my sister and I do.
Best dishes in my humble opinion:
I love their shu mai, sesame chicken, healthy jumbo shrimp with vegetables and their mei fun is the best of any place I have ever gotten taken out from.
We order a lot especially while we were in the process of moving.
They are friendly nice, clean, polite, and deliver and their delivery people are good and polite. Plus the food is has been fairly good quality the many days we have order
Other positive things:
For Disabled or low mobility people
they have delivery that works out fine and I don’t drive so that is good for me as I can’t walk more than a few feet and use a wheelchair/ walker due to mobility issue from a past injury.
One day I hope to be able to go there in person and see the ambience up close as I used to go to a diner with my family as a child and it looks so much like it (at least from the street when I have passed when I did have a ride into Ridgewood a few times in the past.
Extra happy with Baumgarts Cafe because I can eat here without getting the high gluten food pain& overly spicy food pain I now get at so many of my former favorite places. Much of what I have at Baumgarts is mild enough for me but still tasty so my severe health changes have made this one of the only places I can go to without severe health side effects.
