Batson River Brewing is an excellent place for great craft beers and delicious food. The Wells Fish Camp is just one of four locations, and it appeared to be one of the busiest (although it was in December during holiday season). The wait time was over an hour, but we were able to find immediate seating at the bar. The holiday decorations were some of the best I’ve seen in a restaurant, every inch of the place was decorated. Plus, a festive holiday drink menu, which included mocktails.

This place was near our motel and conveniently located. We wanted a light lunch so we could get dinner so we stopped in here. The vibe was really different. My husband said the seating was super comfortable. The service was great. The wings were delicious the burger could have been a little bigger but it was delicious! I would recommend if visiting this area!

Cute rustic hunting lodge vibe. Stopped in cause it was listed as a fish camp which I took for causal. The only beer they have is their own brew – just a little bitter. Armani our waiter was awesome and he provided samples – just they all tasted the same. We started with mussels- not bad. My hubby had the fish n chips and he said it was very good – crisp and tender. I had the Brussel sprouts – too much honey or molasses on the sprouts – it overwhelmed them. I had the roasted veggies and they were crisp and fresh. The only thing I didn’t like was the brussel sprouts- please just roast them and drizzle sauce on top.

The chefs love salt. everything was so salty! we had 3 orders of fish tacos, very salty with the tiniest piece of dry fish. salty fries, couldn’t enjoy them. the mussels were very bland, and very small. the m&c we ordered for my son was a tiny portion. I was upset to pay $10 for it. with a side of fruit that was LOTS of blueberries, 2 blackberries, a few pieces of strawberry, 2 cubes of watermelon. the margarita pizza had a severe lack of basil. the service was pretty slow. didn’t even get refills on our drinks. we likely won’t be back.

Had a great experience at Batson in Wells! I have been to their other locations, but never to Wells and loved the waitlist feature, cozy atmosphere, and menu. My cocktail, soup, and mac and cheese were all delicious and the service was great. Looking forward to going back soon!

Got the venison nachos appetizer which was good but not $22 good (I got the salsa and guac which is not included, but very much needed). Then I got the haddock tacos. They looked great but they overloaded it with the cabbage slaw which had almost no flavor and was hard to chew. I made it through one but brought the other home in hopes someone in my household would want it. Again not worth $18 for mostly cabbage and the most mild sauce you’ve ever had.

The atmosphere was okay except they play the most god-awful 50 year old divorcee dad music you’ve ever heard. Every 3rd song brings the vibe down. I get their clientele is more “50 year old divorcee on vacation” and not “30 something fiancés on a night out” but wow it really killed the whole experience. The beer is good and would reccomend it for that, but this is my 3rd time going and third strike for this place.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere. The fish and chips were perfect and the seasonal Congdons Porter was my favorite!
Can’t wait to go back

We had a wonderful private dinner! The host set us right next to the fireplace which was so nice on such a chilly day. Our waitress was wonderful! My only slight complaint is the red cabbage slaw seemed like it was a couple days old which made me wary of eating it. Other than that everything was perfect! Thank you so much!

We had a great dinner last night at Batson River Fish Camp. To start, we had the dry rub wings, poutine, and smoked fish dip. Out of those 3 – our favorite was the dry rub wings. For our meals, we had the smash burger, pepperoni pizza and the pear salad. The burgers were fantastic, the pear salad was so fresh and the pizza was amazing.
