Amazing food, unique flavors and neat service. Everything is serve in a way that makes you feel like if you are in Puerto Rico. We ate seafood paella and carne frita with mofongo, also with rice and beans. The tamarindo juice and passion fruit were bomb!! All staff is constantly making sure you have the best services and experience. The chef and his wife are super sweet and take every chance they have for walking and talking to clients around while make you feel like family. This is a top rate place for me that I highly recommend!!

The food here is phenomenal. My family is part Puerto Rican and I went with Some friends, and the food at this restaurant was amazing. We did not try everything on the menu, but if we had room in our stomachs, we would’ve ate everything in the restaurant, not only was the food Good, but the drinks also, where amazing. well done. You can tell the food was made with love, and the drinks were blended to perfection. If I could, I would take this restaurant with me. Everywhere I go.

We just had an early dinner at El Batey and it was absolutely phenomenal. I didn’t expect much, even though I heard many good things – I have to tell you – the food was absolutely delicious and beyond any expectations! Definitely will be back! Definitely highly recommend! We shared an appetizer “Sorrullitos maiz” and it pairs very well with their Batey sauce. For the entree we had “El Cacique” and it was absolutely phenomenal. It was my first time trying authentic Puerto Rican food and I wanted to cry of how good it was! For desert we got “Quesitos” and it was out of this world. I can’t wait to go back and try other dishes another time! The place is clean and cute, staff is friendly, ambiance is so charming. Loved it!

Amazing restaurant, truly a must try for Tucson. I ordered the special which was NY steak with malanga and vegetables and was genuinely impressed with not only the quality of the food but the presentation and plating! The steak was cooked perfectly, the malanga was flavorful and silky smooth and the vegetables were perfectly cooked and complemented the dish. If you check this place out you have to try the NY steak special!! 10/10 chef!

I need to say it, this is the best Puerto Rican restaurant in AZ. In conversation with friends we also believe if this restaurant was in PR would be among the top. So absolutely a must have in the Tucson area. And absolutely worth the day trip from Phoenix. I took my family that came to visit and we had an awesome experience at Batey. The flavors the presentation of the food and the service was fantastic. Even chef Carlos came to our table to check if the food was to our liking and expectations. Looking forward to be back in Tucson to try more of Batey Puerto Rican Gastronomy.

Maybe the best food I have eaten, every ingredient is specific and intentional to build a flavourful experience. The chef Carlos is very attentative and 90% scratch prepared plates. Janet our surver is also part of the family and is loving and tentative and went above and beyond to help with special dietary needs ❤️

Amazing Eats!

First time trying this place I took my food to go. I’ve been craving good Puerto Rican food. This place hit the spot from the drink, the Tostones, Yuca fries and the Mofongo Relleno Camarones everything was top-tier delicious!!! I definitely can’t wait to take friends and family to try this restaurant. And of course, try the rest of the menu . Thank you to the wonderful cashier for her service! And the Chicharrones while I waited

Great find!

Never in my life did I expect to find a Puerto Rican restaurant in Tucson, AZ. Never!

So, I’m on my way to my hotel after flying in, do a quick restaurant search, and “Batey” pops up as one of the options. I thought to myself, “Oh, I know what that word means…it’s Taíno language!”

A little more research and boom! it’s a Boricua restaurant. Jackpot!

I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly waiter. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with tons of Puerto Rican décor…paintings, umbrellas, art, you name it.

They have a small bar at the end of the main hall that looks pretty cozy. The place smelled incredible, just like a true Puerto Rican spot should.

I ordered the lobster mofongo plate to go. I wished I could’ve dined in, but I was exhausted from my flight and ready to crash at the hotel. I also ordered two alcapurrias.

Back at the hotel, I finally sat down to enjoy the meal. The mofongo was great — soft, garlicky, and that lobster sauce was money! Yes, it was that good. The alcapurrias, however, were just okay; they didn’t seem freshly made. But not a dealbreaker!

This place delivers. If you’re an Arizonan who’s never tried Puerto Rican food, go to this place. You’ll be amazed!

Great traditional Puerto Rican food, the pastel was the best I’ve ever had, the pernil was so moist/tender.
Really cool vibe inside, very friendly staff. The pride and effort they put in shows through every aspect of the business from the food to the decor and making sure you had a pleasant experience.
Over 100 miles away from me but worth the trip!

In town from Vegas for the weekend.
Here it is:
Food was so good it made me think of my grandmother’s cooking and being back home in P.R. It put a big smile on my face. Price is a bit up there but now a days it’s understandable. Kind wait staff. The vibe and ambiance was one of joy driven by how good the music and food complimented one another. I really hope this place lasts. The very last Puerto Rican food restaurant in Vegas closed abruptly and left me wanting. I can’t wait to come back to Tucson knowing this place awaits.

PS: Took the Empanadas sampler to go for family to try and they loved them.

Gracias mi gente. La comida le quedó de show! Que dios los bendiga y les deseo muchos éxitos!
