Batavia is a fantastic hidden gem near Buford Highway for Indonesian food. My lady and I love discovering great eats, and after seeing Batavia featured on another Instagram post, we decided to give it a try — and we’re so glad we did. While waiting for our food, we enjoyed browsing the small market, which was a nice touch. On our first visit, my lady ordered the mackerel, and Yolanda kindly recommended the lamb soup for me. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and her suggestion was spot on — the lamb soup was outstanding. We loved it so much that we came back the very next week! This was my first experience with Indonesian cuisine, and it definitely won’t be my last. I’m excited to try more dishes, though that lamb soup will be hard to top! 😀

Coming to USA from Indonesia, I had been craving Indonesian food. While in Georgia, we found this restaurant which was on the way, and we went there.
The food was delicious and almost authentic. The person cooking was from Indonesia and so I was happy that it would be close to the real thing. We ordered the nasi goreng nusantara and the bakmi. The nasi goreng was much better than the bakmi I ordered. I wish they had sambal in bottles but they did not. You can also buy Indonesian products. There is a big menu, and they also have rice with sides like you would get in a warteg.

There is a restaurant menu and a canteen where various dishes are displayed. You can pick 3 dishes and rice for 15 dollars. Shown in the pic are 3 of the dishes that I picked – rendang, some liver curry, and green beans with tofu. Tasty food for an affordable price. One of the few Indo restaurants around and it doesn’t disappoint

Batavia is a wonderful spot near the Buford Highway for Indonesian food! We really enjoyed perusing the small market while we waited for our food and even ended up buying some snacks to try later. The noodle dish we tried was simple but delicious! Also, the service was very friendly and patient with us since we weren’t familiar with Indonesian cuisine.

If you like authentic Indonesian food this is the place to go to for lunch and don’t forget to order onde-onde, the palm sugar coconut flake dessert. Choose 3 or 4 items from from the ready made selection… veggie or non veggie. You will have excellent Indonesian food… yummy. ❤️

During my 6 day trip to Atlanta, we went to this place twice! Yes, I am biased because I am Indonesian and these are my native food and I crave them when they are available. Also, Seattle doesn’t have anymore Indonesian restaurants, so naturally I wanted to visit and try this place out.
So, let’s review the food. The food is awesome, authentic, and spicy just like in Indonesia! We tried plenty of dishes in our short visit.
They are well known for their Bebek goreng cabe hijau (fried duck in green chili). This was amazing, we loved it, and ate it all
Satay ayam was also good and kids love it.
I like the bihun goreng, it’s just like the bihun i have Indonesia.
We also have the 3 item plate and went with gule Kikil, tempe, and tahu goreng. It was good as well.
When we went on a later date before we head to the airport, we also ordered a few more items, like batagor, terong balado, and gule ampela. They were good as well.
Their avocado smoothie also hits the spot, so I highly recommend them.
The portions are generous, price is fair, flavor is good. Definitely, if you are interested in trying an Indonesian cuisine, give this place a try!

While the food was undeniably authentic in flavor, there were several areas that fell short. We ordered sweet tea, but it was far too sweet and tasted like it had been sitting since the day before, not fresh at all (more of like yesterday tea). Upon arrival, we had to wait several minutes to be seated, and it took even longer before our server acknowledged us.
The portion sizes were generous, which we appreciated. However, I specifically requested sambal for my soto betawi and was given an Americanized version, overly vinegary and lacking any real heat. It was so off that I almost grabbed a jar of the authentic version from their shelf display. I understand the need to appeal to a wider audience, but please offer the real Indonesian sambal when asked.
To top it off, our server forgot part of our order, and another staff member had to come back to clarify. The experience had potential, but these lapses held it back.

Loved this place so much! Was missing Indonesian food so went here with the family and was pleased that all the food tasted authentic and so delicious. Portions are generous and filling. You can also buy and stock on your Indonesian groceries while you’re here.
