The razor clam was nicely presented and good but was very disappointing in terms of texture.
The seeded bread was still warm and the cultured butter was yum!
The rest of the courses were much much better and were really good and special mention to the execution when it comes to cooking fish and seafood related dishes. The sauces you have with the scallops and the cod were unreal.
Just a small note on the cod, I didn’t really see/taste the liquorice so that was a bit confusing.
Perhaps this is because I’m French but some bread would have been to avoid wasting those delicious sauces/jus.
The meat dish was very well cooked and so tender! I wish the waitress had left the jus/sauce and had given some bread to soak up the sauce.
The dessert was nice and surprising. Loved the yuzu sorbet it was very refreshing and I love how bold it was by integrating ginger and artichoke however I was really disappointed as a ginger lover I didn’t have the kick from the ginger at all.
The petit four (hazelnut financier) was nice as well.
The service a bit rushed at the beginning we had the bread and butter served without even knowing whether we were going to get the wine pairing or not. It was a bit too quick for us, this is maybe due to restaurant having 2 services on Saturday night.
Overall the service was still good and we got very clear explanations on the dish/wine.
This was for a birthday celebration and although this was mentioned in the reservation this was almost missed, thankfully my partner reminded them when I went to the bathroom.
The food is made with great care, balanced flavors and creative ideas using simple, high-quality ingredients. Honest, inspiring and highly recommended.
A little smile along the way: the cutlery is served from the left … just a habit, we were told, and it fits perfectly to the authentic spirit of this place 😉
I also appreciated a more measured pacing to the courses which affords a bit more breathing and conversation time between plates compared to some restaurants that seem obsessed with delivering the next course seconds after the previous course is complete.
The waitstaff is approachable, personable and always in motion. I can’t recall a time when I’ve seen a higher performing front-of-the-house crew operating at their level of effectivenss or demonstrating such a cooperative, team-oriented attitude. They’re very familiar with the menu and are able to make excellent beverage pairing suggestions.
They contribute to the energy in the dining room, which only has about 10 tables for 2-4pp plus a larger 8-person table for larger groups, along with about 8 seats at a shared high top and counter extension (so definitely make a reservation).
A casual atmosphere and varied background music complement this Modern Michelin experience.
I look forward to returning when I’m next in Dublin. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I should note that I couldn’t fully judge the game dishes, as I’m not personally a fan of game meat. That said, the overall execution across the menu felt confident and precise.
Service is calm, warm, and professional, and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed — ideal for a special evening without feeling formal.
Highly recommended, and I’d be happy to return.
The pros first:
– nice work around the wine pairings, really nice and well explained.
– Fish dishes were amazingly executed with some really beautiful sauces.
– dessert were really well designed with some original pairings, loved it
however for 5 stars it was coming a little bit short for the price and Michelin star in our opinion for a few little details:
– the tempo of the menu, especially at the start felt a bit rushed, we like to take the time to settle in and in between dishes to really enjoy.
– the sizes of the dish overall, we felt didn’t fill the stomach as much compared to other Michelin star restaurant.
Overall we still had a great evening with nice food and lovely service which is the main part! Thanks
Thanks again
