Social Profile:

Since we opened our doors in 1989 many things have changed; we’ve updated the menus, undergone a renovation, and added more staff to our Basta family. Still, our commitment to fresh, authentic Italian food has always been the same. In fact, we work to improve each and every day to continually dazzle our guests. So whether you enjoy our fresh, hand-cut pasta, local day-caught seafood, a signature veal chop or a Neapolitan pizza from Rhode Island’s first-ever VPN certified restaurant, we are sure you will never have “enough” of Basta!

Italian classics, including pizzas from a wood-fired oven, in stylish quarters with outdoor seating.

outstanding dining experience. fresh made pasta and plum tomato sauce , perfectly cooked. I had broccoli Rabe and gigantic shrimp cocktail with it. excellent! I would definitely go back, and probably order the same thing!

Was disappointed with the chicken Parm. It was the tiniest little side pasta ever. For $24 you can go to almost any Italian restaurant and get much more for your money.

Taylor, our server was amazing. Salad and bread so fresh. Chicken Parmigiana rivals any North End establishment! The sauce was tremendous! Will definitely be back. If I had to nitpick something. The manager greeted us, we told him we traveled an hour in the rain to get there. He then tried sitting us in the bar in a corner high top table.

Service was extremely slow. Reservation was at 5:45 and we got our first course/ salad at 6:45. We were later notified that they were down 3 people in the kitchen. I ordered the scallop special of the day and it was $39. Tasted ok but doesn’t justify that price point for 5 scallops. We ordered a pizza and it was so salty. The crust and sauce tasted strange. A frozen pizza tasted better. The dessert was ok. Extremely overpriced food and poor quality/ taste. I had high hopes for this place but was deeply let down.

Food was very rich and excellent – save room for the deserts. Great place for a special occasion. Service was great and attentive. Parking is available behind the restaurant. Options of eating inside or out. Pick a wine – mixed drinks were made with a heavy hand and all you tasted was the alcohol.

Modern with a touch of classic Italian feel. Basta continues to hold up to its excellence in service, food and ambience. The calamari were crispy and tasty. Entrees included a magarita pizza, a couple of veal parmesian dishes, and my salmon over risotto. Every person at the table enjoyed and savored each bite. Desserts consisted of cheesecake, creme brulee, gelato, and affogato. All which were equally delicious as the entrees.

I admit, we came here without a reservation. It was around 5:30 pm on a Friday night. The hostess informed us there were no indoor tables (I get it) but there was outdoor seating. I asked about the temp of the seating outside and she snapped that I could go out and look myself. She was beyond rude. We just moved here, we were exhausted and hoping to find a nice place to eat with our daughter. I’m glad the food is supposedly good but I’ll never come again after being talked to like like that.

Had a wonderful time last Saturday night. The food of course was superb, only to be overshadowed by the terrific waitstaff. The manager, Don was accommodating and helpful to any requests that we had. It’s always my favorite place to celebrate our family birthdays.
