I always make it a point to stop in here for a meal when I travel for work. Great environment. Friendly staff (who remembers you btw). Awesome food.

OMG!! That pretty much sums it up. The food here is outstanding!! ,5star quality at 3star prices. Try the cheese polenta, it’s to die for. Everything we ate was so delicious, we wish we had a restaurant like this near home!

Overwhelmingly impressed by the quality of the food. Every part of the meal was authentic Italian cuisine and absolutely delicious. We ordered a Caesar salad which was perfect, linguini white clam sauce & tortellini with vodka sauce. The vodka sauce was incredible. This is by far the best Italian restaurant in the Poconos and surrounding areas. Comparable to a New Jersey or New York Italian restaurant, if not better. We will be coming back soon!

While out of town for work, I stopped in this restaurant. I parked in the restaurant lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Valerie was my bartender. I started with the limoncello martini and didn’t care for it, so I switched to the espresso martini, which was tasty. For my appetizer, I got the stuffed clams, and they were ok. For dinner, I got the swordfish special with potatoes and spinach, and that too was just ok. The bill was affordable, and I had an ok experience.

We were visiting from out of town for an event and the hotel we were staying with did not offer any good dining options. I came across Basso on google maps and made a reservation. We ended up being over 25 min early for our reservation and they greeted us kindly and seated us right away. Our waitress was fantastic!! I wish I could remember her name. We shared the chefs special appetizer and both our mains were all phenomenal! The restaurant is also beautiful inside. I highly recommend!!

Rating this restaurant in line with other establishments charging $20-35 for entries, it’s disappointing. The menu looks interesting but the execution and taste is lacking. Stuffed mushrooms – stuffing was too oily and sat atop an undercooked mushroom. The straciatella soup had a thick layer of butter floating on top, but taste was missing.

My husband and I sat at a hi-top at the bar… Valerie was our bartender and server… she was excellent! The food was delicious… cooked to perfection. We had the mussels as an app, lasagna and linguini with white clam sauce for dinner. DELISH!!! Highly recommend this spot for a good time and a wonderful dinner.

From the minute we walked in to our leaving we were impressed. The staff was on their A + game. Our waitress Samantha knew the menu top to bottom. Our drinks were very tasty and a good value. The Calamari was delicious, the soup special was their Rhode Island chowder, that was superb. Our entrees were a 10 +. Excellent eggplant parmesan and the from scratch ( as was everything) Lasagna with meat. Portions were generous. We will be back!

Incredible food, horrible service. Stopped here with my wife for dinner on our 20th anniversary. Smelled great just walking in. Didn’t realize reservations were typical here, but they were nice enough to find us a spot in a back room, at least we thought. They seated us, gave us time to look over the menu, and answered our questions. They also brought out an empty basket with two condiments on the side for bread that wasn’t there but assured us it was coming. We placed our orders and got a bottle of wine. The wine bottle was empty before the bread came, and by no means we were pounding the wine. In fact, it was over 40 minutes since we had sat down before it came, and it was only because the lady from the kitchen finally brought out the appetizers and realized we had not gotten anything yet. The appetizers were fantastic, to be fair, got the stuffed mushrooms and clams oregatano. Then nothing again, not even a check to see if we needed drinks or anything at all for another while and then the main dishes. They were also very good, but steak was overcooked, which was no surprise as apparently they don’t ask how you want it cooked. Also, the lobster tail is a Rock lobster, which would be nice to know as many might assume it’s a Maine lobster. In all, we left almost 2.5 hours later feeling largely ignored. Perhaps the experience is better with a reservation as many were seated and gone while we sat. Won’t be going back for the price.

My chicken dish had no presentation whatsoever ..not how it was described on the menue…it looked like a bunch of leftovers that were tossed together in a very unappetizing bowl. I truthfully could not make out what I was eating. I could say more, but I will not be going back!
