Takes the best of Basque and Vietnamese cuisine and blends it into something truly unforgettable. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious — the flavors, the textures, the creativity… all on point. The variety on the menu is amazing, and everything is presented beautifully.
The service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly, kind, and informative, taking the time to explain dishes and make great recommendations. You can really feel the pride they have in what they do.
What a wonderful place. We walked out already planning our next visit — this is definitely going to become a regular spot for us!

Big portions, kinda pricey. Soda cans not fountain drinks. Tai tea is really good. The loaded fries are amazing, the Vietnamese sandwiches Banh mi are great.

I could say so many things about Basqenese. The food is unreal, Barbie is a lovely human, and you will never be disappointed with anything you order. Best bahn mi I’ve ever had, the croquettes, mochi, and garlic noodles are fire, and the best pickled veggies ever. Just go try it. You won’t be sad.

Every time we eat here it’s so good. Been so dissapointed in French dips & cheesesteaks elsewhere but their cheese steak hits consistently. All their Bahn mi sandwiches are rad, the char siu is tender & especially delightful, the garlic noodles are comforting & plentiful too. They seem like they actually care about food & the people they serve it to. So many places just shove out mediocre product, not taking the time to think about how something will be eaten but not here. Worth every penny. Forgot it was a hockey game night tonight but even when it’s slammed the service is always polite & friendly.

Bestowing the best banh mi award here, no question! I’ve had some great ones, including some epic veg takes on the sammy all around the US. This one with marinated lightly fried crispy tofu is tops. Ambience: fantastic food hall setting in the best walkable area in the city.

We love Basquenese!!! The food, the employees, the chill atmosphere- it’s allllllll good! We have visited Basquenese a few times now and, I hate to say this, but each visit has been even better than the last! I cringe at myself for saying that because our first experience at Basquenese truly was an awesome one, but every time we go back, we are in shock all over again at how crazy good the food is and how great the service is, too. The employees are soooo, so kind, they are very knowledgeable of the menu, and they are very helpful when it comes to deciding what to order. Option overload is real, even when the menu is on the smaller side- we just want everything every time like it might be our last meal. Big shoutout to Joseph and Chef Mick, who both have helped us on numerous occasions. Their politeness, enthusiasm, and optimism will be remembered.
-> I have noticed that all of the employees are incredibly apologetic over wait times, and, honestly, that breaks my heart. I know that they have been screamed at by customers. I do not understand it. Your food is being made fresh for you. The employees cook and assemble your food after your order has been placed. The food has not been sitting under heat lamps all day. There are no microwaves back there re-heating things. Personally, I do not mind the wait. Waiting allows us time to slow down, to sip our drinks, to connect with each other at the table (because once that food is ready, we will be way too busy shoveling that mess into our mouths like wild animals to be able to hold a decent conversation). Everyone is in such a rush all the time. I don’t get it. Regardless, if you want fast food, hit a drive-thru. You have no business being inside the food hall.

We’ve been big fans since they were serving out of the food truck. Being from SoCal, we missed the authentic Vietnamese food. Basquenese hits every time!! So happy they have a spot at the warehouse now bc it’s closer to where we live
11/10 we would recommend. Our favorites are the pork belly banh mi, mamas chicken, Thai tea and ube butter mochi!

The new Warehouse Food Hall in Downtown Boise is awesome. There is literally something for every person here. Our favorite restaurant is Basquenese: a Basque & Vietnamese Fusion restaurant. Everything here is delicious, and it’s super fresh. We got the Wonton Soup with extra wontons and Mama’s Chicken Garlic Noods. Both were incredible. Barbie (owner/chef) always has something new on the menu that wows. We are excited to try the Basque Cheesecake later. We couldn’t eat it because the portions here are super generous. We left stuffed. So bring your eating pants!
We will continue to frequent this spot. Plan ahead, because sometimes there is a wait, and this is NOT the place to go if you’re in a hurry. Good food takes time. And Basquenese is worth the wait… always. ❤️

I stopped into Basquenese thinking I’d just grab a quick bite and accidentally found inner peace thanks to their pho. One sip of that broth and it felt like my soul exhaled and all my problems clocked out for the day. It’s rich, comforting, and somehow tastes like it was simmered with patience, magic, and extremely good intentions.
