I’m happy I found this hidden gem in the back corner of Basmati Grocers! The fried onions and chicken tikka masala were delicious. The masala was so tasty, with a perfect spice level (enough to make you want water, but not enough to make you sweat), and tender/marinated dark meat chicken. The rice was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and the price was great (under $20). I also loved the warm free chai. The green dipping sauce that came with the onions was lovely, too.

Wow! Don’t let this small restaurant fool you, we had some of the best Indian dishes in DFW here. We loved the paneer tikka, matar paneer, and paneer 65 — all perfectly spiced with good portion sizes. I would recommend them over the butter paneer and don’t recommend the veg biryani. They also have free chai which is a nice touch. The staff is also wonderful. We’ll definitely be back for more takeout!

Best Indian food around and generous portions of food. Key word – generous. So many places give you tiny amounts of curry and charge a crazy amount for it. One place in particular charged me $25 just for a tiny portion of curry.
At Bismanti, I spent $20 and got:
-a large freshly made mango lassi
-2 samosa
-1 tikka masala
This is my new go-to spot for Indian food. And the owners are super friendly and family-oriented.
Save money by avoiding DoorDash, UberEats fees, etc. Just call ahead and pick up a to go order or eat inside.

The food is very good and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The wait wasn’t long at all (maybe 10 minutes tops) but considering it’s scratch-made food makes the small wait well worth it. Shout out to Luna, she was absolutely fantastic and really sweet! 10/10 would recommend!

As soon as I walked in, I could smell the aromatics from the kitchen. I went to purchase ingredients to make a dish at home, but ended up walking out with my intended ingredients, +3 ready to eat Meals. As I was walking through the aisles of the grocery store, three people were stocking fresh produce and spices in the aisles. The prices are fabulous, and I highly suggest you give this place a try, both grocery and café.

Quiet cafe at the back of a grocery store. They had some nice mood music playing and thankfully, it wasn’t on too loud to make talking difficult. Complimentary chai was much enjoyed but be aware as it was very hot. We had a variety of chats-all delicious. Spice level was even a bit much for my Indian companion but they happily supplied us with some raita and sweet sauce and that made a huge difference. Portion sizes were generous. All in all, a delicious meal and would happily return.

I am not here to tell you how to live your life – I barely survive day to day myself. However, I can tell you how to have an outstanding eating experience, make note. If you are within a 10 mile radius of the Basmati Grocery/Basmati Cafe – place an order with the cafe online. This order should include at least two entrees, two snack items, rice and naan. Get in your car and drive directly there (no matter how long the wait time recommends). This way you have enough time to walk around the grocery store. Grab a new fruit, an amazing set of spices, a bag of rice so big that you could fashion it into a dress six months from now when you eat all the rice, a bag of chips in a shockingly good flavor that you are clueless about and any imported Cadbury product in the shop. THEN, grab your food order which, if you are like me – eating alone, you will have a small buffet for at least four meals. In short (for about $35). This place is great – the cafe items that should not be missed are the Onion Pakoda, Butter Chicken and Chicken 65 but I have seriously liked everything I have tried. The grocery store also has great prices and selection, it is a great way to try new food or enjoy familiar ones. Go now and enjoy!

We enjoyed a quick, high quality meal while shopping. The pastries and desserts were absolutely gorgeous and beautifully priced (AND delicious!). The Mango Lassi was very good and the chai was complimentary with purchase. The service was excellent; Staff were genuinely interested in our satisfaction. Also the tables, floor, cabinets, counters etc were all sparkling clean. We look forward to returning soon! (Only 3 star for atmosphere bc it is a grocery store after all…but as I mentioned, it was very clean and we enjoyed watching Indian music videos)
