The wine list was extensive and they even had an aglianico variety which is hard to find, but one of my favorites.
Our table ordered main dishes of lamb, steak, and a shrimp. All were cooked perfectly (even our rare lamb and steak). The ravioli and calamari were also great, not too greasy. The lemoncello cake was fantastic. I’m not sure if it was a regular menu option, but I would love to have it again.
This place was lovely, we didnt feel rushed, and the food ans staff made it a great dining experience.
For the tapas and entrees alike, the fantastic portion sizes alone justify the prices. Moreover, every single item was truly rich and delicious, and I savored every single bite. Furthermore, the service is prompt and staff very friendly, making you feel as if you’re conversing with family!
Not only do I recommend this restaurant emphatically, but I hope to return as soon as I can to re-experience it.
My experience started a little sketchy, but what truly stood out was how the manager handled the situation and completely turned it around. Here’s the tea.
On New Year’s Eve, I placed a DoorDash order, and shortly after, I received a call from Basil letting me know they were closed for the evening. No problem at all—I thanked them and hung up. Unfortunately, the order wasn’t properly canceled through DoorDash, which led to an issue with my refund.
The following day, I called the restaurant, not realizing they had just closed for the afternoon. I missed them by about ten minutes and figured I’d try again later. To my surprise, my phone rang—it was Basil calling me back.
I explained the situation to who I believe was the manager, and without hesitation, he said, “Come on up—I’ll replace your meal, give you a complimentary dessert, and include a salad.”
What stood out most was his warmth and kindness. There was no suspicion, no defensiveness—just genuine hospitality and a clear desire to make things right, which is unfortunately rare these days.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how they’re handled, and Basil handled this exceptionally well. Between the outstanding food and the top-tier customer service, I’ll absolutely be back and will continue to recommend them.
Thank you, Basil.
The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the lamb ribs—so good, we even ordered two extra portions to go! My date loved the toasted ravioli, and I was all about those lamb ribs. We both enjoyed the bread, too. We also tried the two specials: Seafood Risotto and Seared Scallops, both of which were fantastic.
I can’t wait for another opportunity to return to Basil’s. Just thinking about this place brings a smile to my face. You won’t regret giving it a try. I really hope Joseph remembers us when we return because we’re definitely coming back for the same table! xoxo Thank you for making our night so memorable. <3
The menu looked safe, the reviews looked good, so hubby gave the restaurant a quick call. Anna was beyond comforting, told him not to worry, that I would be safe and to come on in (without a reservation)!
I can say enough about our dinner. It is our 12th wedding anniversary. After a long day at the botanical gardens I didn’t want to go anywhere too fancy or pretentious, but we definitely wanted a great meal. They did not disappoint. The service was perfect. Attentive, pleseant, kind.
The food was perfection. The grouper was light, with a buttery texture and paired with grilled veggies. Hubby had the scallops with grits, hands down amazing!
For dessert, we had the gluten free flourless chocolate cake and it did not disappoint! The raspberry sauce added the perfect tartness to complement the creamy chocolate goodness of the cake!
Even the valet was a doll!
We will definitely be back!
