This is not a bad place to eat. The plaza that the restaurant is located in could use a massive refreshing as it does look a little rough around the edges. The lady who took our food order was polite and very friendly. I have dined here several times trying different things on the menu and one of my favorite things is the calzone. I do enjoy the hot Pastrami sub as well. They serve up a pizza which is extremely tasty. All around positive experience.

Passing through town 7pm on a Sunday, not much open. Dropped in for a slice ended up with a FANTASTIC pizza! The Mediterranean has fresh basil, fresh spinach, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and BACON. Great flavor combination over a red sauce. Also offers carrot cake, lava cake and a cooler of ice cream half pints. Can’t wait to come back

If you happen to get your order right, congrats to you. Simple order..substitute lettuce for onions on my gyro! ” oh I’m sorry sir, I’ll try to do better next time” well how does that make up for this time? “Well I could give you a couple dollars off your next order” how about you give me my meal next time? “Well I cant do that without asking a manager”

So like really, i need to tell you to talk to your manager to give me what I just asked for? So I’ll just post this for all to see! I simply wanted lettuce instead of onions! Oh!!! And this is not medium cooked!!!! Looks like it’s time to get people who know the menu, And people that know how to cook!!!

Update:
Recalled after an unsuccessful first attempt wanting to speak directly to manager or owner. Was able to do so and made the situation whole! Thank you.

If you like cheap tasting greasey pizza that is way over priced ($15 per pizza) for the quality, this is the place for you.
We ordered 2 medium speciality pizzas, and they were swimming in grease (see pictures), not only were they greasey they lacked flavor, and the ham was just lunch meat and barely got warmed. The bottoms were dark and top undercooked.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside (or inside to be fair) but this is the best pizza I’ve had in the state of Vermont. I grew up near NYC and have high standards for NY style pizza and this is 100% the place to go.

They offer great eats at reasonable prices. I’m a fan of their massive size calzones! I also appreciate their door to car pickup.

Good god where do I start. We have attempted to eat at Basil’s multiple times and things just go wrong each and every time;
if you order online their credit card system will (and has to us) double charge. Refunds are a nightmare if you pay by card, multiple days to refund.
We have ordered delivery previously and has taken an hour to and hour and a half for the food.
We went in today & none of the prices match what’s on the menu. (we ordered two entree, ea. Priced at $10.99 and were charged for $14.99 ea.) Staff did not tell us this until after my card was run and requested an itemized receipt.
Food quality wise, it’s good. No issue with quality of food just that it’s way too expensive for what it is. If you want to spend a premium AND get *GREAT* food. Go elsewhere.

The quality of food and service has gone down drastically. Recently I ordered a gyros and it was basically inedible. Dry, edges of the meat burnt. This used to be one of their best dishes.

Last week I went there for curbside since delivery takes forever. I called to alert them I was there, an older woman answered the phone and I told her my name and I was picking up outside, 2x she asked what I wanted to order. A young girl brought a small bag out and I said it didn’t look like a complete order. She said it was and left. I laid on the horn after realizing they skipped the salad. She came back out and brought the salad. I asked for extra sauce, they forgot it. The chicken parmesan was in little chunks and rather dry. The salad greens leftovers turned brown the next day. I don’t know what happened to this place. It was once good and consistent, albeit pricey. Aside from the pizza the other dishes are pretty lousy. So disappointing.

Basils has seriously gone downhill since they opened back up. Shortly after they opened again, I ordered food for my family. The pizza was okay but the subs were thrown together and we got chips but had asked for fries and onion rings. Not a big deal, we all make mistakes. Last night was a completely different story. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and two chicken finger subs with fries. It came to $56 including a $10 tip for the driver. The girl on the phone was extremely rude. I was told 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. One hour and 15 minutes later I called to check on our food. Same girl with the same garbage attitude said our order was marked delivered and I knew at that moment our food had been forgotten about and was most likely cold. She then said the delivery was on its way. Over an hour and half later our food arrived cold and thrown together. Our subs were not even close to what we had ordered. I was mad and called Basils and a different woman answered. I explained what happened and she said, “Well what do you want me to do about it?” No apology for the cold food and very long delay. I said I wanted a refund. She spoke to the owner and offered a 50% refund. I said I wanted a 100% refund but she offered a remake and a redelivery. I said no and asked to speak to her boss. He offered a 50% refund and I said no I want my money back for this garbage! I said you have lost our business and I will let everyone know you hire active drug addicts that don’t care about the customers. He hung up on me. So my husband and I and our two little kids packed up the food and went there. Once the owner realized a man was involved he hid in the back and had the woman give our money back. We have been loyal customers for almost 4 years. We happily paid for overpriced food because it tasted like a sub shop from Boston. We won’t overpay for employees with horrible attitudes and awful food. I hope he goes out of business.

My food has been made incorrectly the last 4 times in a row, and it’s a sub with 3 things on it….. The food is decent enough once it’s corrected. Some of the wait staff is great, others not so much.

Update: I’ve spent my last dollar here. Your inability to make a sandwich with 3 ingredients, as well as the inability to accept responsibility for repetitively failing makes spending money with you a joke. It was clear tonight that the free food one of the staff’s boyfriends was priority over the food I paid for.
