It is absolutely unbelievable to me that there was not a line out the door and around the corner for this place.
OUTSTANDING food. My little guy and I split the Quesabirria combo after seeing a photo of the dish posted here that made our tummies growl. It came out incredibly fast and was piping hot. It was cooked to perfection- crispy outside, super tender meat, gooey cheese. The birria consomé was so flavorful and not super greasy like some I’ve tried at other places. I could’ve just drunk the consumé by itself! lol It wasn’t spicy at all- my 6-year-old downed his taco and I ordered him another. I was also offered their salsas and got a green one- really tasty. The rice and beans were on point too and I’m a snob about my rice and beans lol It takes a lot for me to be happy with them!
The service was super friendly, kind and accommodating. I live for these little family-owned places and will choose them 1000 times over the big chains. Cannot wait to come back and bring the rest of the family! Run, don’t walk. This is a MUST try!!

The best Mexican food spot in Lakewood is Basil Pizza and Mexican Food, don’t let the pizza name fool you. The are focusing now on what they do best the Mexican side of the menu and were NOT disappointed. First up: The Birria Taco Plate. Juicy, savory, and the dipping consommé is mandatory. Then, these vibrant Red Chilaquiles with the perfect egg on top. And for the brunch classic: Killer Huevos Rancheros with red and green sauce. Serious Mexican food game. Go check them out!

easy to like, easy to miss; hidden in the corner and definitely more mexican-forward, i came at an odd hour and tragically missed out on the tiramisu, but the beef enchiladas in green sauce made for a lovely meal with its buttery-tender tortillas and smokey-savoury barbacoa filling and them avocado slices were just the perfect add-on, loved those too. the green sauce itself was rather shy in flavour, but the rice and beans were seasoned hella rich and a nice partner to the complimentary salsa’s extra tang! generous portions, local-vibe ambiance, and a dashingly-attentive owner that was a joy to chat with, really the best spot to recharge at after running some errands near the towne center plaza

Just came here to eat last night and everything was delicious! The cashier was so kind and attentive. She informed us the meat is cooked fresh so it does take a bit longer for it to come out but well worth the wait. I tried the California burrito with carne asada and the torta. Both were excellent and I’ll be coming back!

I’ve been driving past this place for a few weeks now and finally made it a point to stop in. The location is small and simple with 2 tables inside and 2 outside but is very clean and appealing. Tried the Asada Torta and it was oh so good! Reminded me of my family’s homemade food . You can absolutely tell the ingredients are all fresh and I plan to come back to try their other options. One thing to note is that they no longer do their pizza/Italian style items, only Mexican food menu. Service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend supporting this local, family run business! You won’t be disappointed.

The vibes, food, & drinks are amazing! I’ve been looking for a good Mexican spot close by since moving here. The family who owns and works here are very friendly and welcoming. I got the birria tacos plate (best birria tacos I’ve had in a while)with a passion drink which was delicious and refreshing. My boyfriend got chilaquiles and a Jamaica. (He loved it) our meals came with chips and green and red salsa both have so much flavor and depth slight smoky flavor to it. Needless to say this will be our new spot.

Fantastic spot!! Looks to be a small family run business. When I hear people talking about orders from the front yelling order to abulita in the back of know food will hit!! Got the quesobirra taco really good great flavor super fresh and hot, but the star of the show was the beans omg these beans were so bomb. I wish I would’ve gotten a bean and cheese burrito. The beans had so much flavor!!! It is hard to find a place with amazing beans. I would buy a tub of the beans for parties. This place is worth a drive come down just don’t forget to get the beans!!
