Basil had a very nice ambiance and super sweet staff. Very large menu! Could not decide on what to get, so just tried a Rock Wall roll and a Philadelphia roll. Both were delicious. The server also recommended the New Year roll and her personal favorite the Ninja roll. Will be back to try those.

This is such a good spot for day or night date. The ambiance is so nice. It’s in dark in there and all the tables have a really nice light. The sushi is pretty good. We both each got a roll and ordered a noodle dish. I only gave the food a 4 because while it was good, it wasn’t “next level/life changing” good. My husband said the egg was a bit overcooked (he likes it runny so it makes the soup thicker) Otherwise, the presentation and components were delightful.

10/2025- this was my second time here, I took some friends here for a birthday party and we had a great time. We ordered multiple items and we all tried everybody’s entree and appetizers. The Indian pancakes with curry sauce was delicious, as were the Bao buns with pork belly. One of the ladies ordered pad thai, I had the Thai chicken curry, and two of the other ladies had sushi. The sushi was wonderfully displayed and delicious. They offered our friend a free small ice cream sundae which was very sweet. The atmosphere is very romantic, I recommend this place on atmosphere as well as delicious food served. Everyone had a good time.
1/2025-This is my first time stopping by Basil Cafe. It was the beginning of a new year so I wanted to have something healthier, so I picked this place to go while errand running. I ended up ordering the Thai curry chicken with pork gyoza and side salad. The salad had a wonderful pureed onion vegetable dressing, the gyoza was seared on one side with a sweet soy sauce on the side. The Thai curry chicken bowl was the Superstar of the meal. It’s very big so can certainly fill you up just on its own but I wanted to try their appetizer too. Lots of fresh vegetables in both the salad and the curry Thai chicken, I was delightfully surprised and happy, it exceeded my expectations as far as the sauce. The sauce has a light spice, is creamy and has that nice curry flavor to it. It’s very rich and smooth with fresh vegetables and white meat chicken. The atmosphere is above average as far as romantic atmospheres go, with upgraded modern dark wood, dimmed lights and a nice cute little sushi bar. The seats were cushy and comfortable. There are lots of options to choose from for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Overall it was super yums.

Enjoyed another dinner at Basil Cafe. We usually get gyoza, filet mignon maki and various sushi rolls. Tonight tried the Dancing chicken entree. Was delicious! Have also enjoyed shrimp tempura and pad Thai on other evenings. Have also had great success with order takeout in the past.

The service was good and the atmosphere was nice as well. The food was not good. The miso soup was rather flavorless . I got the Pad Thai and the shrimp was overcooked and the entire dish was lacking that Pad Thai taste I’m used to. The pineapple fried rice was good but the chicken had no taste. The presentation was nice but overall the dishes I tried, which were noodle and rice dishes, lacked flavor.

Ive ordered from here to-go many times, and the food has always been delicious!! The sushi is fresh and the Thai dishes are yummy!! Today I dined in while trying their ramen for the first time, and it was excellent! And the service!!! Always treating you like you are special, all while smiling!! This place rocks!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Basil Cafe in Rockwall, TX, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was charming, the service impeccable, and the food, simply outstanding. One dish that stole the show was the Angry Dragon Roll, boasting a delectable combination of lobster, caviar, and spicy crab mix on top. Each bite was a burst of flavors that danced on my taste buds. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting Basil Cafe. Highly recommended!

This is an awesome place to enjoy Asian cuisine. I love the atmosphere and the abundance of the dining experience. My best friend and I enjoyed just all kinds of entrées. The menu is so beautifully displayed that it’s like the food jumps out of the pages. We had an awesome waitress!!!!They played great music, which accompanied the delicious food they served. Basil Cafe owes me nothing!!!!

Small nice restaurant in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Restaurant and bathrooms are very clean and in good repair. Menu has a wide variety of selections. Staff was polite and nice but not very helpful. Our sushi and fried rice were very good. Prices are slightly on the high side. I would recommend for a quiet sushi/Asian meal.
