Tonight was our first time at Bash’s and it did not dissapoint. All our food was fresh and delicious and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend my choice which was fried catfish and shrimp, mac and cheese and garlic green beans. I finished my meal with a yummy carrot cake. My husband also enjoyed the peanut soup and chicken with mashed potatoes and yams. We will definitely be back for the curry goat and oxtail. Thank you Bash!

One of the best soul food meals I’ve ever eaten. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned with real heat and flavor, the fried catfish and fried shrimp were insanely good…crispy and fresh, and the sides were on point. The greens with that authentic slow-cooked taste, flavorful black-eyed peas, and cornbread that was soft moist.
Chef Hanes took great care of us and was awesome from start to finish. Friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the food he serves.
Portions were generous, everything tasted homemade, and the whole experience was top-tier. If you’re anywhere near Dover and want legit soul food, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back.

We stopped by Bash’s on our way back up to New York and are so happy we got to experience this restaurant. The food was delicious! We ordered several chicken and fish dishes along with some side dishes (collard greens, black eyed peas, jollof rice candied yams…all delish). The fried chicken was perfectly crispy. The owners are so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them. Great experience all around. Next time we are in the area we will definitely come by Bash’s Soul Food & African cuisine!

I came in today with a friend from Southern Sussex County, Delaware. The gentleman ordering ahead of us came from VA. We all agree this was worth the drive.
I got the ox-tail with peas and rice, along with yams. My friend got the fufu with soup and some jollof rice.
Bash was hitting on all cylinders as the food was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely with AfroBeats playing in the background, and the man and woman behind the counter were just so lovely. We will be back, and we want to bring our friends.

My very first time trying fufu and egusi. OMG it is so flavorful, tasty. The portions are amazing my husband and I shared it and still had some left over. We will definitely be back. And I will be trying new stuff every time we go. The lady at the front is so sweet. The juice spicy ginger juice is SPICY. Can’t wait till my next visit

Decided to give the restaurant a try as it’s close to my house … I had two African dishes previously in life so decided to order them: cassava leaf and jallof rice. My husband got fried flounder and shrimp with mac and cheese and yams. Everything we ordered was delicious. We we greeted with amazing hospitality. The portions were not huge but we were satisfied with what we received. The restaurant was nice and clean and set up nicely for dine in. We will definitely return.

It’s rare we get any good restaurants in Dover, but I think this is my new favorite. I don’t think a single thing on the menu here is frozen, reheated, pre-breaded or prepared. It’s all fresh and flavorful, it feels like settling in for a homecooked Sunday dinner – because that’s what it is. Absolutely lovely people at the front and back of house, Reggae playing at just the right volume on the radio, made for such a nice and cozy experience. Would absolutely come back for more!

Fresh, delicious food, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The relaxed atmosphere, Bob Marley–style music, and the owners personally serving guests created a warm, welcoming experience. Easily one of the most enjoyable meals we had in a long time.
Thankful.
We (my parents, husband and I…and bringing others with us) will be back for the ox tails, yams, rice and beans, catfish, greens, Mac and cheese, and to try other items on the menu.
Just wish I took photos to share.

Initially, I was uncertain about what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The wait time was approximately 15 minutes. A young man and woman greeted me with warm smiles and efficiently took my order. It’s essential to support businesses that prioritize exceptional hospitality and service. I highly recommend Bash’s, rating it 10/10, for its well-seasoned food, decent variety, and reasonable prices.
