Brandy and The Basement is an absolute gem in downtown Akron.
From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. Brandy is the kind of server who makes you feel like a regular on your very first visit—genuinely kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a great experience. That energy carries through the entire place.
The Basement itself is cozy without feeling cramped, stylish without trying too hard, and perfect for everything from a laid-back drink to a lively night out. The drinks are consistently excellent—thoughtfully made, well-balanced, and served with care. You can tell this isn’t just a bar, it’s a place built with heart.
If you’re looking for a spot in Akron that combines great people, great drinks, and a great atmosphere, this is it. Highly recommend—once you go, you’ll want to come back again and again.

I had such an amazing experience at The Basement on Waterloo in Akron! The food was absolutely delicious — everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Our server Laura was incredible — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
What really stood out, though, was Brandon, the bar tender. He was so sweet and personable! He came over to introduce himself, asked how everything was going, and even put on the World Series Game 2 for us — with the volume up so we could really enjoy it. It made the night feel so special and fun.
It’s rare to find that kind of hospitality these days. The whole experience was top-notch from start to finish. I can’t recommend The Basement on Waterloo enough — we’ll definitely be back!

I truly cannot say enough about how grateful I am to the basement!! I last minute wanted to throw my son a surprise party, they worked with my time line. They were so accommodating and when I called even more last minute to order off the catering menu, instead of no, I was greeted with a “what can we do to help?” attitude and it was so refreshing.
I got there early to set up, the servers and bartenders were just so AMAZING! They helped with anything I needed.
The biggest shout out in the world to Brandon C. He was an ALL STAR! Beloved by my entire party if 20-30! Kept the drinks flowing, the delicious food coming out (also shout out to the kitchen staff), and most importantly, he even took the time to entertain the kids who were just there to have a great time! (Pics attached)
What a night! Could not have done this without the basement crew! Brandon C., the other servers, the bartenders, kitchen staff, and beyond… thank you!

Late-night burgers at The Basement were exactly where our taste buds led us after a long night of work and wow, did they deliver! The Beer Burger hit every craving, paired with a fresh side salad, and we couldn’t resist the loaded tots(highly recommend). My husband went for the patty melt, and holy smokes it looked so good I almost grabbed it off his plate.
And ladies… let’s talk about the eye candy. Our server, Brandon, was not only super polite and fun, but he’s also a fireman. So yeah, the food wasn’t the only thing heating up at The Basement tonight!

Blown away! I travel constantly for work and spend most of those evenings trying new restaurants and sports bars around the entire country. I have never had wings like this. Phenomenal. But the service? Somehow EVEN BETTER! I was only going to try a burger, but my server (Marshall) steered me towards the wings. He is a wise man, knew the menu thoroughly and talked about many menu options with excitement and pride in the quality of them. He made the overall experience very enjoyable and I will most definitely returning to this location.

After being on the road for seven hours, we were greeted by Marshall, our server, whose welcoming spirit and attentive service immediately made us feel at home. The burgers and double grilled wings were exceptionally tasty, flavorful, and far beyond what our palates typically encounter. What started out as a dull night turned into such an enjoyable one thanks to our amazing waiter Brandon! Even on a busy night, he handled everything with such grace and still found time to keep us laughing and make sure we had a great experience.
