If you haven’t had Nepalese, Base Camp is perfect to expand your palette. Friendly staff. Heat scale is 1–10 with 6 & 7 enjoyable levels of spicy. Not too hot but enough to entertain your nose. Went with buffalo and chicken dumplings, lamb chops, goat sauté, and more. The desserts help cool your mouth down.

Delicious food, friendly service, and cozy ambience.
We ordered the lamb momo which were insanely addictive! We also got the calamari alongside as an appetizer which was very good. For our main we shared the goat and mushroom tarkari which tasted super fresh and had a perfect level of spice, so it paired well with our mango lassi.
Would definitely recommend this place!

Found this absolute gem tucked away in town! It has such a cozy, warm vibe that makes you want to linger. The staff are incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We tried the momo, soup and the noodles, and they were packed with flavor—honestly, everything we ordered was a hit. They have a lovely selection of vegetarian options on the menu, which is a huge plus. Definitely a must-visit!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I loved the Nepali decorations and artwork. The dumplings with goat meat and side of curry/tomato were tasty. I liked the soup – spicy and flavorful. We had a curry w chicken which was awesome- very tender. We had a chili dish w goat. The goat was tough but had a lot of nice flavors so I didn’t mind at all. We got a rice pudding to go, very yummy. Loved the chai tea! Would love to come back!

We eat here once a week, at a minimum. Basecamp has become an important family tradition for us. The food is exceptional! The staff are thoughtful and kind. Basecamp is easily the best restaurant in Hanover, bar none. I would go so far as to say say you wont find a better meal anywhere. Try the gundruk soup, spice level 7. It is my personal all-time favorite food.

The best restaurant in town. Highly recommend the Lamb Takari dish! You can adjust spice levels from 1 to 10, and oh yes they will get very spicy as you get closer to 10

This is the n-th time that we come to this restaurant, either for work or with friends. However, I had not been here in a few years. This time it was 5 of us. My order was messed up, ordered a chili and got a chhoila, but that is not a problem, I was happy with either. But the food was ok at best. Some veggies and shrimp stir fried in some tomato sauce, not particularly flavorful. It felt like this is something i could have made myself at home in 5 minutes. Good ginger non-alcoholic drink. It was about $40 each with a shared appetizer and a couple of soups and a main dish each. No alcoholic beverages. Not impressed, probably won’t be back for another few years.

Delicious! Everything we had was amazing, I would recommend the jeera chicken and the wild boar momos. You can choose the spice level of your food too. Great place.

Great gluten-free options marked on the menu. I had the Shrimp Tarkari (Lunch) option and they have spice levels from very mild to very hot that you can select. For drink I had the cucumber cooler “Fresh pickle cucumber muddled with lime, pinch of Himalayan pink salt full of essential minerals and soda water.”

Great food. I had chicken mushroom chili. My wife had chicken mushroom tarkari. Both were really good. The room was good for conversation and talking with our friends.
