We order garlic naan and chicken basant and naan was really nicely made and chicken was tender, nicely spiced and awesome. Overall great experience.
Izzy was our server and she was awesome and was really serving well and responding with smile
The food is where Basant truly shines. Each dish strikes a perfect balance between honoring classic Indian flavors and presenting them in a modern, refined way. The menu is creative without being intimidating, and everything we’ve tried has been beautifully plated and deeply flavorful. You can tell there’s real care behind each dish—from the quality of ingredients to the layering of spices and textures. It’s the kind of food that makes you pause after the first bite and say, wow.
The service is equally impressive: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. Whether it’s a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion, Basant delivers a consistently memorable experience. It’s rare to find a restaurant that checks every box—ambience, food, service, and consistency—but Basant does exactly that. We’ll happily keep coming back and recommending it to anyone looking for outstanding modern Indian cuisine in Chicago.
Big fan of the Milai cilantro, creamy and rich and with chicken it would be even better.
The naan was good, it could have been a bit more buttery.
The gulab jamun cheesecake tasted a bit more like a basque cheesecake – very good but little reminder of gulab jamun.
I liked the ambiance here a lot – very lowkey, but nicely presented. I would come back here again.
The ambiance was amazing and the service was fabulous.
I would say try this place and see it for yourself!
