Food, atmosphere, service 10/10. I little music would’ve been a nice touch but one of the best Cesar salads, lasagna and chicken parm town! And oh melt in your mouth chocolate cake.

Made a reservation for 9:00PM to check out this Michelin rated Italian restaurant in Dallas.
We were sat right next to another couple when there were plenty of other open tables around which was weird.
Then the waitress kept asking what we wanted without giving any time to settle in. It felt like we were a bother to them from the moment we walked in and they just wanted us to go.
I realized after that they close at 10 on Saturday but they accept reservations for 9 so it shouldn’t be an issue especially at the price.
Anyway, I ordered the tortellini vodka sauce because I’m an Italian from Long Island New York and I’ve yet to find a decent vodka sauce in Dallas and sure enough this wasn’t it either. Very disappointing vodka sauce. The homemade tortellini was good but the sauce was lacking in flavor and creaminess. If you know you know.
My date had the chicken parm which was also mid. It wasn’t bad just not worth the price or the hype.
Lastly and maybe this is just a New York thing but I was surprised they didn’t serve any bread at the start of the meal as that’s kind of standard at Italian restaurants up north.

We came for dinner on Saturday night at 7:00. We ended up celebrating a few things so we ordered from their great Italian wine list. To start, we ordered fried ravioli, which is great to share. For entrees, we all ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The pasta is great but the start of the show is the huge chicken parmigiana. I ate all of mine but there is definitely enough to take some home. Our service was also perfect. She was attentive, but also didn’t come around too much.

I love Barsotti’s (even back when it was Carbone’s!)! The pasta is always superb and the atmosphere is cozy/personable. I eaten here on date nights and with family. It’s a great place to celebrate.

Good food and experience but I didn’t leave feeling it was worth the bill. Lots of other spots that deliver a more luxurious experience for the same cost. We got the Meatballs with Provolone ($16) and enjoyed the sauce. You could easily split the Chicken Parm Vodka ($36), it was delicious. Probably won’t be back but fun to try a new spot!

We had ricotta with garlic bread, spaghetti with meatballs, and veal for the first visit. Ricotta garlic bread was definitely worth ordering to share – light and super tasty. You could tell that the pasta and meatballs were freshly made in house. The spaghetti tasted like whole wheat. Our favorite was the veal. The iced tea was surprisingly good as well.

Today, I happened to pass by this restaurant and learned that it was a Michelin-recommended restaurant in 2024, so I decided to go in and give it a try. It should have been a pleasant evening.
We ordered a salad and fried calamari as appetizers. Unfortunately, the calamari was shockingly small, and the squid itself had clearly been overcooked at a very high oil temperature, leaving it completely dried out. The exterior was covered in a very thick layer of batter, overwhelming the dish.
The salad was extremely sour—so much so that no other flavors came through. All I could taste was acidity. This could possibly be a matter of personal preference.
What really surprised me came next. The server came over and asked whether we had finished the dish, even though I had barely touched the calamari and only tasted the salad. There was no attempt to ask why the dishes were not eaten—only whether we were done.
We also requested the dessert to be served immediately, but despite that, there was still a long wait. When it finally arrived, the pastry was not crisp at all, which was disappointing.
Overall, this was quite a letdown. That said, it is undeniably a beautiful restaurant, and I respect all restaurant professionals and staff. However, tonight’s experience made me feel that, as a guest, I was not respected.

Barsotti’s is an American-Italian focused on portion size, taste, and comfort-style food. The chicken Parm is tasty, pastas are very good, and you will leave full and satisfied. A recommended stop for a lunch if your craving some American-Italian cuisine.

Great Italian Food located at the entrance of Highland Park/Oak Lawn area. They make the pasta in house and you can tell because it’s delicious. I got the garlic bread and ricotta which honestly was just okay. The gem salad was good and shareable between two people but a little expensive at $16. The star of the show for me was the waitresses recommendation of the Tortellini Vodka. Man oh man, there is meat and cheese inside the tortellini but still light, filling, and flavorful (especially that sauce ✨) We also got the veal Parmesan which was good too and it comes with a side pasta. All in all, I look forward to coming again and bringing out of town guests here too. Barsotti’s keep doing what you are doing!

We come to Dallas multiple times a year to visit family and attend to business but had not yet tried Barsotti’s. After being recommend to us off the Michelin guide, we decided to try it. Wow, just wow we were all blown away! If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. Everything from start to finish was absolutely devine. The portions are really large so we ended up over ordering for the table but it was worth it to try everything. My personal favorite was the Sunday gravy but my husband couldn’t stop talking about the arugula salad. We already can’t wait to come back around Christmas!
