Tours Clearwater
We ate at Barry’s while visiting family. We were offered a tour of the 12 hotel rooms and loved the themes. The restaurant was super cool with the old hunting lodge feel and decor. The Chicago Bear presence there with some of the Ditka, etc memorabilia was pretty nice.
The location was a hidden gem and the outdoor area on the water is very nice. The live music really set the beach atmosphere.
It’s definitely has the beach bar feel. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and good.
I definitely recommend it.

Barry and Donna are amazing people. They genuinely care about people. Barry’s Crab Soup is one of the best kept secrets around. They create a contagious culture of caring individuals with whoever they are around. Love being around them. They give to so many charities and the community. They are always willing to help out those around them and know how to have fun. Give their restaurant and hotel a try. You won’t regret it. Come stay at Barry’s!

My husband and two kids traveled to the area and stopped here for lunch. The waitress was very new. She was sweet, but her nails were dirty. Food was nothing special and served warm. Shrimp was overcooked and didnt taste fresh, the burger was lacking flavor and I found a hair on the bun beneath the burger. I had only eaten 2 bites before finding the hair. I told the waitress, she took the burger and walked away. When she came back she had the check. We paid for our meal including the partially eaten burger. When I told the manager, she said she took the burger apart and could find it. She never asked me to show her the hair that both my husband and I saw. Instead, she just said she didnt see it and blew off the situation. For a moldy smelling hole in the wall, I suppose I shouldn’t expect too much. The family behind us were also complaining about the food and the smell. They commented about how the grilled chicken sandwich didnt have anything on it and was very dry. There’s potential for the location, but this experience was very disappointing.

I always enjoy Barry’s. It is a down-home, casual hangout with friendly locals and tourists. It sits right on the Currituck Sound and has wonderful views. It has docking so boaters can motor up for drinks or a bite to eat.

Unfortunately their grill was down so the menu was limited but what we ordered was sufficient. Will try again when the grill is working. Server was delightful and the atmosphere is true to a fishing lodge. The view is wonderful.

We stayed in the pirate themed room. Barry’s place has great vibes and excellent hospitality. Donna was professional and polite during check in process. Rooms are dated but comfy and no issues. AC worked great and the bathroom was recently remodeled, with a very nice shower. Also they are affordable! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Right on the water with fantastic views!
