Barry’s BBQ closed its doors for the last time on Saturday night. The Fyffe based restaurant has served DeKalb County for nearly 25 years.

Open Thursday through Saturday, the buffet features fried fish, country fixin’s, homemade ice cream, cobbler and barbecue.

One of the Top 100 Places To Eat In Alabama Before You Die. They are only open Thursday – Saturday. The BBQ buffet (pork, ribs, catfish and chicken) are phenomenal. The home made ice cream (peach and banana were my favorites) are as good as you will find anywhere. Worth the drive for this gem of a restaurant.

My family and I get the hankering every now and again for the long drive from Huntsville to Barry’s BBQ. Food here is out of this world good. Fresh ice cream. And very cute. If you’ve never been and you feel like you’re in the wrong place and driving down someone’s driveway, you’re in the right place. There’s usually one or two great big old dogs wandering around. They are very sweet and don’t bother anyone.

The actual BBQ is really excellent! I also really felt that the Cole slaw was done perfectly. If you enjoy home made ice cream they churn some fresh nightly. I tried the Large BBQ pulled pork sandwich and added some of my slaw to it. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
Lastly, if you think you are lost you aren’t… This place is really tucked away on a country road all alone behind a home.

The host this past Saturday was very pleasant. The previous Thursday’s host clearly did not enjoy what he does. Food was good. The potato salad needs to be mixed a bit more. Clumps of cream white substance. Assuming it is mayo.

Always clean, super nice people and most of all the food is like going to Grandma’s house for dinner. You get to share and meet people because you share your table with others. Can’t beat the homemade food and ice cream. Would give this place 10 stars if I could.

Bbq chopped cubed bites not long stringy pulled bites.
Fried catfish filets. Not tiny little finger food type.
Baked beans, pintos, corn on the cob, turnip greens, salad bar with a lot of options including potatoes salad and slaw.
Come early because the get really busy after 5 PM
BEST Homemade ice cream I’ve ever had.
Vanilla, strawberry, peach, banana, grape, and the best coconut EVER

The wife and I were there last Saturday and we had no complaints. She liked the catfish and turnip greens and especially the homemade ice cream. I liked the BBQ, catfish, broasted chicken and the turnip
greens were to die for. The BBQ was choppded and ribs, both being very good with good sauces. They had 4 flavors of ice cream, strawberry, vanilla, peach and Butterfinger. I make homemade strawberry and Butterfinger and both were very near my recipe.
We will be returning on a regular basis.

Went with friends this past weekend. Thought we were lost, but so glad we weren’t. The food was outstanding: fried catfish, fried chicken, bbq ribs, pulled bbq, turnip greens, corn on the cob, potato salad, cole slaw, hushpuppies…hungry yet? And you get to top this off with homemade ice cream. WOW!!!

First of all there was no a/c in the building and it was extremely hot. The bbq was full of grissel and the ice cream was melted so that it was milk was a much better place to eat when it was in fyffe. Not worth the drive or the money
