Barro’s Pizza

Social Profile:

The Barro’s Pizza recipe comes from Grandma Angelina Barro who came from Italy in the 1930’s, providing a pizza unlike any other. People may disagree on whether it’s the thick crust with its light, flakey texture, which almost melts in your mouth, or the wonderful spiced sauce that is the secret of this great tasting pizza. Barro’s Pizza also provides wings, salads, sandwiches, pastas, gluten-free pizza options, dessert, beer and wine.

Regional chain serving thick- & thin-crust pies, wings & sandwiches in a simple setting.

We came here to support a fundraiser and tried their sub sandwich and it was just ok. Cheap meats and not full of meat. Came back to try the pizza and crust looked really good but it was a bit doughy except for the very edges of the crust. Toppings were yummy but overdid the sauce. Good for a quick bite and would definitely come back for a salad. Very fresh ingredients and multiple choices for toppings. Service could be better. Once you get some attention at the counter they are very attentive.

Soft, fluffy and crispy dough.
Definitely the best pizza in the area.
1st time got take out and couldn’t believe how flavorful and crispy it still was either the 20 minute delivery from DD.
Anyway came back the very next day for a dine in experience and it did not disappoint at all.
5/5 pizza,
Service 4/5 do to not being a fan of walk in order restaurants do to being unfamiliar with menu and people waiting behind you to order.
Atmosphere 5/5 having plenty of seating available

Better than the last Barro’s we went to in Surprise but still not as good as 67th Ave, we drove 10 extra minutes to avoid Surprise Location. Wife’s Original Crust BBQ Chicken pizza was good, my thin crust pepperoni and green olives was good too. However, both of our pizzas had the essence and taste of cinnamon sugar, very subtle but enough to lose a star. Customer service was better than Surprise but again not up to the expectations that were established at the 67th Ave location. Great pizza but inconsistent results, hoping the new on 163rd Ave opens soon and is better than these last 2 locations. We asked both locations if they knew about the opening of 163rd, no one seems to know.

Update : We have been here 4 nights this week (still unpacking new house) and we have had 4 good experiences and pizza was great, big improvement from first couple visits.

I lived in the Phoenix area for 3.5 years in the early 2000s, and never had gone here for pizza. Wow, what a mistake I made in doing that. I would put this pizza up against any of my other favorites from the Phoenix area as being right at the top of the list. I’m glad I saved some leftovers for the following day, because I got to enjoy it twice in 2 days. Excellent pizza! Don’t miss a chance to order from this place if you get the chance!

We ordered from Barro’s tonight for the first time. We ordered the white 12 inch pizza with wings. It was so delicious. We added garlic as well . Loads of cheese. We like thin crust and it held up well. It was enough for 2 people and still had leftovers. The chicken wings were decent. We ordered no sauce on the wings. We like to get a few different sauces to go along , but hubby forgot to add sauce to the order. Will be ordering again fro. Barro’s .

I was picking up a DoorDash at 24762 N lake pleasant location and the little blond girl with glasses was extremely rude and was saying stuff like this is crap as she was walking. I told her we could hear her and she literally said “ What do you want me to do about it?” I told her to be quieter and she just shrugged. I asked for the manager whose name is Matt and told him about it. She needs to get gone. Total lack of respect for the business and its customers. I won’t come here again.

I came in to pick up a single pizza I had ordered ahead. When I went to pay, the cashier actually got upset that I selected “no tip” on the POS. She showed clear attitude as soon as I pressed the button.
I’m all for tipping when someone provides table service, refills drinks, or goes above and beyond – but expecting a tip for simply handing over a pickup order is unreasonable. The tip culture pressure has gotten out of control, and this experience really left a bad impression.
Good pizza or not, I don’t appreciate being made to feel guilty for not tipping in a situation where it isn’t warranted. I hope the management addresses this.

This is one larked parking lot! The cleanliness of the lobby was good considering how busy it was. They have lots of what looked like high school age people working. The girl who took our order was pleasant but had this face the whole time. The garlic Parmesan wings are terrible! Easily the worst version of that flavor I’ve ever had. The Pizza is good, unique flavor, not skimpy on the toppings but nothing to rave about. The salad is quite expensive for a small
Plate and they charge fir extra dressing. Soda that we were told would be changed wasn’t our whole visit and even upon leaving wanting some to go still hadn’t been changed. Place is ok but not any better or worse than an eat in Pizza Hut or dominoes and Barros will cost you more.

I don’t know why I do this to myself why I keep ordering wings from this place praying that they’re going to come out well and they never do.. The wings were very very dry, The owners need to take ownership of their oils changes so that wings come out fresh, I open the box 90% drums 10% wings I’m like really not 50/50 The drums were very hard.
