We found this Irish pub on a day drive and decided to try it out for takeout. Both times I ordered to-go, and the food was amazing! The fish and chips were perfectly battered and fried , and the potato wedges had that extra buttery crunch I love.
The first time, the lady who helped me was quick and friendly. On my second visit, the service wasn’t as great—the guy at the counter didn’t greet me, walked past to assist an empty table, and told me there was no ketchup even though I saw it on another table. Maybe it was just an off day.
Either way, the food is consistently delicious, and that’s what keeps me impressed.

This was one of the very few places open close to 8PM on a week night. I walked in not expecting much. Sat outside and ordered wine and Bangers & Mash. The wine is served in adult sizes, no skimping here. The Bangers and Mash had to be the best I have ever had. My work partner had the knife and fork Beef Stew and he said it was fabulous. This should be your next stop if you’re looking for good food in Oak Harbour.

The atmosphere was great. Happy hour prices were reasonable. I ordered a Huckleberry Fizz and Calamari to start for the table. The calamari was a bit overcooked (chewy), but sauces were flavorful. For dinner, I ordered the lamb & beef burger, which was good. My husband ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was beyond tough, and when asked how it was, there was no offer to get him something else. It was left on the plate, and he ate everything else around it. We won’t be going back.

Loved the aesthetic, table space and overall atmosphere. Waitress was amazing. Drinks and food were so delicious. One of the better places in oak harbor. 2 adult drinks, 2 apps and 2 entrees for just under $100 which isn’t bad considering prices lately.

A good space to meet with friends to enjoy a drink and a pub-style meal. The hamburgers are great value – hand made and cooked to order.
My Shepherds Pie with mixed lamb and beef mince came with fresh bread and was very tasty. And didn’t have an unnecessary covering of cheese (much appreciated)
Service was friendly and efficient.

Our server “Bartender” was not great, told us she would be back. Prioritizing alcohol tables behind us who showed up after us. She never showed back up walked right past us several times, we had it and asked for the check. All we wanted to do was eat, we wanted to try this place for our first time. My pregnant wife and I were hungry left disappointed in the service aspect. Food looked amazing, atmosphere was great, looked very clean. However disappointing we didn’t get to enjoy it.

Delicious Irish pud fare. Sea chanties played while we had burgers, potatoes and beef, and fish ‘n chips. Delicious beer, cider, and wine options and ice cold water was delightful. Hearty, home style potato wedges fried to perfection accompanied the burger and fish ‘n chips were devoured, dipped in some of the best ranch I’ve ever had. I can definitely see this becoming a local favorite.

I have been meaning to stop in Barrington’s Irish Pub for a couple months now. I finally did it and I regret not doing it earlier!
I am fascinated with Irish food and really enjoy shepherds pie. Most places prepare it like a pot pie but replace the top crust with mashed potatoes. Barrington’s prepares it in a manner that Guy’s Grocery Games would refer to as a de-constructed shepherds pie.
It’s served in a bowl with the mashed potatoes in the center, surrounded by a sea of the meat filling and two pieces of soda bread along the wall of the bowl.
I enjoyed every bite and wished I was hungry enough to order another serving! However, that one serving was just as filling as it was tasty.
Then I foolishly thought I had room for dessert! So I ordered the Soda Bread pudding. It is served very hot and it is very good. Unfortunately I ate only half of it because I was now uncomfortably full having been unable to stop eating!
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Barrington’s with its Irish decor and the eclectic music playing at a light volume in the background.
I look forward to returning soon.
