Ambiance is nice – but request a seat in the fireplace room and far away from the bar/entrance. Was quite distracting seated where we were due to the heavily trafficked main door. Not the romantic vibe we had hoped (I asked to move and they said since we didn’t specially request that room they couldn’t move us).
The host kept taking other people before us to their tables despite us being right there in front of him (people he knew – I understand their regulars, but skipping us 3 times was excessive). We had chopped salad which was fine, I’d have it again. Both had ribeye. Not much flavor and I got mine peppered and way too much pepper so would strongly advise against that. We had English inn the night before and their ribeye was surprisingly good. Crème brûlée for dessert was standard. Brussels sprouts were outstanding!!! I would perhaps try for lunch in the future, but was off put by the host and food nothing special that I don’t think would return for dinner knowing other options are available.

Was worried when we arrived that there would be a long wait as there is in Door County. However we were sat immediately and were able to sit in our preference on the patio.
At first our waiter was a little shy but he ended up warming up to us towards the end which was nice.
Food was top notch! We got recommendations from staff and they were all helpful in helping us narrow it down our choices. We will definitely be back again!

Door County. The raw oysters were the freshest and best I’ve ever had up here—perfectly chilled, briny, and clean. The truffle burger was outstanding: juicy prime beef, rich truffle aioli, and those mushroom duxelles took it to another level. Easily one of the top burgers anywhere in the peninsula.
Drinks were spot-on too. The Mule was refreshing, well-balanced, and dangerously drinkable—great twist on a classic Moscow Mule. Excellent liquor selection overall; the bar clearly knows what they’re doing.
What really made the evening special was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, but the bartender stole the show—super knowledgeable, fun to chat with about local fishing, the changing seasons up here, and of course Packers talk (fellow fan!). It felt like catching up with an old friend rather than just grabbing a drink.
Barringer’s nails the balance of upscale food in a relaxed, historic setting. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Fish Creek—whether you’re at the bar or sitting down for dinner. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Door County.

What a charming restaurant! The atmosphere was lovely and romantic. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I tried a few sips of my friend’s martini and it was great. I dined in a group of six people and they all loved their meals. Their steaks were cooked to perfection. I sampled the mac n cheese and it was so good! I ordered the crab and lobster stuffed shrimp and my goodness – what a treat! It was very filling and in my opinion, could be shared. I don’t know if I will ever be back to visit Door County, but if I do, Barringer’s will be a must-visit.

Overall, we had a good experience here with lunch on the patio. Food was delicious. I rated this restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for two reasons: our waiter was nonchalant and it was hard to get his attention. We were disappointed that the restaurant does not serve fresh bread to soak in the sauces. As a French person, I feel that some baguette is essential in a meal.

We stopped in for a cocktail and ended up staying for dinner. The bartender, Sean, was the best! My martini was perfect and my husband enjoyed his mezcal cocktail. For dinner, we had oysters and lamb meatloaf. The chocolate cake finished off a perfect dinner. We are so glad we stopped in today and ended up with a great dinner with outstanding cocktails.

Where do I start? Oh, service. So, I made a reservation to Barringer’s in Fish Creek and expected great service because I read the reviews and they’re pretty good. I picked the place because I read good things about their lobster bisque and their steak and seafood. Plus, the price is a bit high end, something you’d see at a Gordon Ramsey stakehouse in Vegas. So I was expecting service and food to be high end as well. But nope! It started with service, I always believe that service will make or break it for me. And this restaurant failed miserably.

We came in and there was a guy on the phone, another server looking for something, and a woman who i assumed to be the maitre d’ who just welcomed a lady ahead of us with great warmth (i assumed she knew her or maybe a dear friend or something). So we stood by the entrance hoping to get greeted or acknowledged or anything. Waited…another server walked over…waited…waited….oh here comes the maitre d’ maybe she’ll greet us…waited…waited…nothing for about 10 minutes of standing by the door. None of the people even said hello, no eye contact, just totally slighted us. I was ready to leave when the maitre d’, who i think might be one of the owner (maybe), finally said hi and asked how can she help. I mean, I think i dressed well enough for a dinner, i didn’t look like i’m there to pick up a doordash order. So, i told her of my reservation. She looked at the monitor, saw my name, and said “yeah follow me”. And went totally downhill from there. She sat us in a corner near the employees’ exit, skimpy table with an unlit candle…away from everybody. I know, i could have asked to be sat somewhere else but i was already flustered with the unattention i felt like i will ruin everbody’s dinner if i said something. So we sat, and waited….waited…waited. i felt like everytime i am ready to go, the staff will sense it and send somebody over. And we had what we think was a new server, who tried his best to serve us (i appreciated that), but did not meet the expectations this restaurant is supposedly proud to offer. We saw other servers who are attentive to their tables, maybe because they’re serving older and affluent looking patrons, who they probably think will tip them well. Hey, I’m a 20% tipper if you deserve it. Maybe we should have worn ball gowns so this restaurant will serve us better. Long story short, service is hellish. I had to ask for everything that should already be standard on a proper steak house. It took forever to get what we ask for. We felt totally discriminated, maybe because we look younger than the rest of the people eating there. And i hope the owner looks at their receipts because i wrote a note on how bad we were treated at that restaurant.

The food is okay. Their lobster bisque is meh (almost bitter because of too much nutmeg). The salmon is good but the veggies looked like they are slapped on the plate. The pork chop is alright, needs more seasoning. The mashed potatoes tasted like it’s out of a box. One good thing about this place is the serving size…the plates are big. Oh, i tried their brussel sprouts and it was good. It was extra good when i snacked on my left overs in my hotelroom. That’s all i can say about the food. Mediocre at best.

If you are going to Barringer’s make sure you dress to the nines, wear lots of jewelries, and maybe be caucasian so you’ll get great service. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

Amazing dinner for our anniversary! The drinks were tasty, bread was soft, and the salad I got was perfect. Would love to take advantage of the outdoor seating another time. Overall great dinner!

Barringer’s in Fish Creek is a good to for upscale dining in Wisconsin. The elevated dining room and modern fireplace makes for a relaxing experience. The bar, big screens, and outdoor patio are also a draw for a more casual experience after a day of shopping. Give Barringer’s a try.

Was searching for nice place in downtown Fish Creek and man did Barringer’s over deliver. Sat at the bar and the staff was super professional and knew everything about the menu. Cocktail’s were expertly mixed. I had the blackened grouper that was cooked to perfection. Also ordered a side of brussel sprouts. From the open air bar to the atmosphere inside this was by far the best experience in Door County. I highly recommend dining here while in town.
