In the heart of Riverhead. Food was good. My fettuccine Alfredo presented wonderfully. Flavor was good. Aldente. Kimberly Lynn’s spinach ravioli with wild mushroom sauce was delicious and aldente. Sauce was amazing. No pino noir. Service was excellent, especially the two young men. Decor was odd to me, with many strange pairings of odd tastes (see pics). Our table was wobbly. The local homeless scene was quite vibrant, as was evident from our interactions through the large street side floor to ceiling windows. The barkeeper intervened swiftly and chased them away. There are manu food venues in Riverhead we’re looking forward to trying. Maybe Tweed’s next time.

My family visited the Riverhead aquarium and happened to park our car on the same block as this restaurant. On our way to our car we gave it a chance. We ordered the rigatoni all a vodka / large cesaer salad, chicken picante and the linguini with seafood. My family is from Brooklyn and knows good Italian food when we see it. It was OUTSTANDING. Everyone from age 7-90 was extremely happy with their order. They have family size or single orders which is great for sharing . Julio was our waiter and bartender. He made the most delicious margaritas I’ve ever had. Seriously! No mix/ only fresh ingredients. Thank you Julio!!!
We met Phil the manager and he was so lovely. He aimed to please. He was so attentive and warm. He made sure we were taken care of. Overall, an amazing experience after a long day. So grateful to have found this place and the wonderful people who work there:)

My sisters, my little nephew and I came for dinner the other night after a day of shopping. What a great addition to the area! We all come from the city and one sister lives on the North Fork so we will be back again! This restaurant provides the best of both worlds! Authentic Italian, high-quality house made pasta and pizza, a beautiful atmosphere and welcoming staff! We will be back soon and will bring more family and friends. We were told it was their soft opening and was already impressed! I can’t wait to try new things as they add to their menu!

Would definitely recommend for a nice handmade pasta meal. They were able to accommodate dietary restrictions (vegan and vegetarian) and still had a wonderful tasting pasta. We also had half plates of zucchini fries which was huge, and a half plate of baked clams, which came with 6 clams.

Excellent food. All pasta homemade ( i bought some black squid for home) staff was friendly and quick slightly pricey for area ,but they all are now. Only small negative staff didn’t know if the had sambuca in an italian restaurant. At first they said no, but found it and brought it over N/C. As they get some more experience this will be a jewel of a restaurant

We came here for lunch after taking our daughter to the aquarium down the street. I am Italian and had high hopes as the restaurant seemed authentic and I had read an article about the chef. We ordered chicken fingers for our daughter and they came out raw in the center so I told our server and he took them back and said they would make us a new dish. At this point we decided to just order a Margherita pizza for my husband and I. An older gentleman (possibly the manager?) returned with newly cooked chicken fingers and fries and didn’t apologize for the mishap. The fries were now cold so my guess is they just cooked new chicken and put it on top of the old fries from before. The pizza that came out looked nothing like the photos and was just a regular cheese pie, that was below average at best, not a wood fired Margherita as they advertise (see photo). We got the pizza to go and left. They did not take the chicken fingers off of the bill. I hate writing bad reviews and to be fair our server was very friendly otherwise but I felt I needed to write this as the owner should be aware. I’m not really sure what happened here but we were very disappointed.

We were looking for a new place to try and were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent and the food incredible. Our pasta dishes were the best we have had since returning from Italy four months ago. I had the open lasagna, half of which will be lunch tomorrow, and my wife hs the spinach ravioli. We look forward to returning and trying more dishes.

Barrila’s Pastaria!! It’s the best Italian place in town. As you walk in you see the amazing dried past and you smell the fresh food and you turn and see everyone having fun. As you look on the menu you see the calamari and the other appetizers that make your mouth water. Then you look at the delicious mains like the meatballs, pasta, pizza, lasagna, fish, and many more. The desserts are great too; two are the profiteroles and ice cream. And their staff is really nice. So as you can see, Barrila’s Pastaria is the best.

I recently had a fantastic lobster, shrimp, and mussels dinner with black ink linguine created by Chef Marco– it was absolutely delicious and I could not have been more satisfied! My guests were equally thrilled with the meal!
The other day, I was in the mood for seafood and decided to treat myself to another delicious meal prepared by Chef Marco. I had Red Snapper Livornese with shrimp and mussels. The snapper was cooked to perfection, the accompanying shellfish was not overcooked or undercooked as I have had in certain other restaurants, and the dish had just the correct amount of seasoning. My appetite was looking to be satisfied and it certainly was!!
