Wonderful experience for DINNER tonight at Barrett’s. They are generally known as a bakery/coffee shop but I have been wanting to try dinner here and so glad we did! Being a cold front in January, it was peaceful and not crowded at all on a Friday. Parking was a breeze. I noticed the chef came out and sat down with a group to help them order. The server was incredibly kind and attentive. She was able to help me pair my delicious Arctic fish entree with a white wine. My partner got the pot roast and it was also very good! The Puppy Chow Sunday for dessert also tasty. Their take on an “old fashioned” was super yummy!
I have also been here for breakfast or coffee a few times and it’s always been a great experience!

I Came here on two separate occasions while in town on a work trip. A lovely little spot with a great aesthetic and atmosphere. The food is good and very flavorful! I had shakshuka and avocado toast with a side of scrambled edds. Both delicious options. Coffee options you really can’t go wrong! The barista bar is pretty legit. One of the days I got an iced matcha and the grey-green color was unsettling and not a traditional matcha – lacking any matcha flavor. All of the pastries look delightful, I just didn’t grab one this go around. I would this spot for their food and service quality but the matcha needs some work.

Came in really excited because everything looked really nice, great atmosphere and seemed to have quite a few vegan friendly options.

Came in for dinner around opening, not very busy, and was seated at a table that was wobbly and asked for a seat change. No problem, though I did notice minor specks on dishes/presentation, but no worries, things happen. I got the pot roast pie which my server said was the most popular dish. Server gave water refills, helped with any questions and I see them accommodating other guests, kids, etc, as well which was very nice and made the atmosphere friendly(though they do have very little kid friendly options for dinner).

But unfortunately, the food that came was lukewarm to say the least, pretty much cold to be honest. The idea was to pour the gravy sauce onto it which was quite salty for me, and the only thing that warmed up the food a little. Otherwise the warmest item I received on my plate was the vegetable placed on top which was disappointing to me. Their main entrees for dinner start at $20 and what I tried just didn’t hit the spot. Not a lot of interesting flavors, would’ve ate home at this point but the meal at the very least is filling/well portioned enough. I wish I came before 3pm to try other items, as they have a lot more selection before then. Which may be more appetizing.

I bought pastries to take home to try and share, and tried the black berry pavlova. I feel that the desert flavors are very heavy, and a bit unbalanced, but if you have a particular flavor you enjoy, it may be for you!
The black berry pavlova was a bit too sweet for me, as the mix between pavlova and perhaps condensed milk sort of thing in the middle made it completely inedible as I worked my way through it. But the fruit puree or jam was great on it. I read a few reviews that their desserts weren’t too sweet which is why I wanted to try.
The tiramisu tart is very bitter and has a strong coffee taste. I liked how smooth and creamy it was but I was expecting more of a sweet bitter balance.
Pistachio eclair filling was great with a decent amount of pistachios on top but the shell itself was very dry.
The lemon raspberry tart was very bitter, I almost spit it out. Only the top part had some raspberry and inside was filled with lemon but very little sugar that would make a child cry. The cream on top was dry and had a very odd texture to it.
The only thing I enjoyed much was the mousse cakes. Really liked the blueberry one. Not horribly sweet inside has a layer of cake. Though the raspberry chocolate one wasn’t as good for me as the chocolate tasted a bit off. I was expecting maybe milk chocolate or like dark chocolate but it just tasted..off. The mousse part of it was still good and it had some sort of jelly in the center which really didn’t pair well texture wise. All the fruits in dessert while dining and pastries felt both soggy and limp, while being dry. Honestly a bit disappointed because it all looked so nice.

Overall staff was pretty nice, good atmosphere, pretty desserts and plated dishes but actually trying them wasn’t that great for how much I’ve spent. Would taste better just eating at home. Maybe day time menu is better!

We were there for dinner time with good flavers on the tuna or the lobter. The desserts were very tasty too but a little too big for one person. There was only two choices for the kids (not really a place for them at dinner I think) but they enjoyed the good pasta plate with butter. Excellent service de ith pour specific needs !

I want to start by saying I have had 3, 5 star dining experiences at Barrett’s before and love their food, service, and ambiance! While this dish was alright, it was a total disappointment in portion size and value. This was an $80 beef Wellington for two. The smallest scoop of mashed potatoes, 4 pieces of asparagus, and two thin pieces of Beef Wellington. I was genuinely wondering where the other plate was. This was it. My boyfriend and I are slim people and we both left very hungry. I’ve had Beef Wellington at other places for a comparable price and had double this amount of food. For $80, I would not recommend getting this special if you are going there tonight! What a joke calling this a meal for two.

Edit to add the chef reached out to me personally to rectify the situation. We were fully refunded for our meal. Appreciate the excellent customer service and we will definitely be back to try the food again!

Barrett’s Quality Eats is such a great spot. The coffee is amazing, smooth and well made, and the pastries are seriously good. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully done without feeling fancy or over the top.

Super easy place to stop in, hang out, and enjoy something really good. If you are in the area and like good coffee and pastries, this place is a must.

Barrett’s is such an unexpected surprise. Fast and friendly service. Delicious and nutritious food. I had the Denver Omelet without the ham—fresh and flavorful. I ordered an espresso latte. It was amazing and comparable to a high-end coffee shop. Thanks for creating such an inspiring experience!

Barrett’s is a slick take on a diner. You walk in and immediately see fresh baked pastries and deserts, a coffee bar and old fashione breakfast signage. It all looks good.
We went for breadfast.I ordered the BEC egg sandwich. My wife got an almond croissant. We both got black coffee.
The sandwich was a mess, the croissant, dry. The coffee was boring. The caramelized potatoes aren’t bad but nothing special.
I really hate to say this but, you can find genuine diner food at the I80 truck stop.

Cute place, creative menu, but it was very expensive and the food was not worth it. I ordered The 5th Avenue; undercooked egg (with very runny white) on top of caramelized onion in a well done croissant “basket” that was very difficult to cut. The aioli was good. Ordered a side of fruit for $6, and it wasn’t ripe/fresh, which I guess is my fault in February. Those two items with a can of Diet Coke and a prompted 18% tip was $30.

Came with family (4 adults).
Ordered 4 coffees and 2 pastries.
For the $40 I left there the least I expected was to get what I ordered.
Asked for cappuccino- received dome bitter hot liquid. When asked got the answer I was served a ‘Caramel-Cinnamon cappuccino’. I requested to replace it with a simple plain cappuccino (with no additional fancy flavoring or any other smart ideas.)
What came out is a cold drink.
Total waste of money and time.
