Stopped by BarrelHead, a great brewery by Niagara on the Lake, for a bite to eat and for my wife and friend to grab a quick beer.
Food:
We tried the Pearl and Lover Boy wood-fired pizzas, which were excellent — especially for non-Jersey-style pizza — along with the Peach of Mind salad (which I did not eat since I do not like peanuts). Everything was flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a casual meal.
Service:
Service was solid, though you may have to wait a little longer for food if it gets busy. The staff handled everything well, and the overall experience felt relaxed and friendly.
Aesthetic:
The outdoor eating area is great, with lots of seating and a fun atmosphere enhanced by live music. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a meal and drinks on a nice day.

We came here based on a recommendation from a friend. Upon arrival there was a redheaded hostess who was very unfriendly and seemed “ fed up”. We asked to sit in the shade, we were 5 adults and 2 kids, she told us no even though there was a table that was in the shade that had just left. When someone else came to check on us, we asked if there was any way to move to that table and she was very friendly and immediately went to clean it up and moved us.
We ordered 3 salads, a pizza and a kids meal as well as a bucket of ciders. The salads were not fresh and had wilted and spoiled lettuce . One of the salads with peaches in it, seemed like the peaches were canned vs fresh which sucked considering it’s $18 for a salad. We asked to switch the Gorgonzola cheese to parm and they asked for $5 sub charge so we didn’t do it. The pizza was ok, lacked flavour, nothing special. Same with the salad, dressing tasted store bought vs made in house.
The live music was a nice touch, but for spending approx $150, I didn’t feel like the food was worth it.

Had such a lovely afternoon at BarrelHead near Niagara! The wine tasting was amazing, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. We also tried their pizza and drinks — absolutely delicious! The outdoor seating with vineyard views made it even more special. Highly recommend this place! ✨

Amazing experience! Me and my fiancée went here for dinner and everything was amazing. I think the reviews that don’t give this place 5 stars are at fault. What you see if what you get with this place; consistent, perfectly sized pizza (heavier than you think) and fantastic service – in a beautiful location. Will go again soon!

Absolutely delicious and fresh. The pizza was top notch. We had a 45 minute wait for food but did not mind. The wines were okay. In my opinion they are a little on the expensive side.

So glad we stopped here for lunch on the covered patio. Food was delicious! Portions are big and the wine paired nicely. Our bill came to $80+ with tip for two. Loved the relaxed vibes and cute ambiance and service was excellent!

Fantastic pizza and the menu pairs the pizza with their wines. We really enjoyed the wine tasting before the dinner experience. Also, everyone was so friendly, from the time we walked into the winery throughout the dinner. Highly recommend the whole: Pillitteri Winery Estate and BarrelHead.

My boyfriend and I had such an amazing dinner at Barrelhead this past Friday evening! The atmosphere is 10/10, the salad and pizza were fantastic and Pam was one of the best servers we have ever had! She was so nice, attentive and sweet. She came over plenty of times to make sure we were enjoying our meal and refilling our wine glasses. She really made our night! Thanks Barrelhead & Pam! We will definitely be back 🙂

The walk up the driveway was enchanting. I’ll admit… I stole a cherry. It tasted like summer as a kid and memories came flooding back! What a beautiful touch!
