This is a MUST do experience for ALL interest levels of whiskey!
I visited with my brothers and extended family, a group of 6. Denise, Stephen, and Zach were fantastic. They opened up the shop for us and another group, provided great Bavarian pretzels, explained to us the process of making our own whiskey blends, and were very sociable and knowledgeable about their craft. The atmosphere was great; a big, well-decorated room with comfortable couches and chairs (great for discussing the best blends). The whiskey on offer had great variety and even a very superficial whiskey drinker such as myself could find my way around. I left with a far better understanding of how whiskey blends work and a much more refined palette.
The best part was leaving with your own customized bottle of whiskey. You choose the blends and the bottle shape and the name and they make it for you and package it very nicely. Stephen and Zach gave us some direction on our blends and we got pretty wild with the names.
Overall, expect a great memory and great environment.

Barrel House offers a very unique experience. If you like to sample and taste whiskeys, bourbons, ryes, etc, this is the place. You can sample all the varieties right from the barrels, rate them and then have your favorites blended for your perfect “take home bottle”. This was a nice surprise “Father’s Day” gift from my son. Thank you Nick!

It is a cute place. However, the product of the distillery is just not a high caliber. The wheated, the rye, etc was all just mediocre to bad. They just haven’t dialed in their blends or barrels. Maybe in a few years? The atmosphere is cute. But the bourbon/whiskey was just not as good as the price suggests. For the price, I expected it to be a lot better. The best word to described this is ick.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at any place ever. Heard about them through Burnt Barrel Meadery and stopped in tonight with friends to check it out. Atmosphere was perfect. Decided to do the create your own blend experience and tasted through 23 barrels consisting of Wheated, Bourbon, Rye and Barely until we were able to create the ideal blend. The owners Steve and Denise were amazing and provided and unforgettable experience. And of course the cocktails are top notch!

First timer and very impressed with the entire experience. There was live music (Mick Byrd, an excellent blues guitarist), good food ($15 for a meat supreme pizza but full size, thin crust and delicious), an inviting atmosphere which truly is unique and reminds me of the “Friends” series hang out with a mix of couches, comfy chairs, and tables, and friendly staff. I watched an employee blend different whiskeys (which I know nothing about) and asked a bunch of questions and he was thorough and gracious. I definitely recommend this whether you’re a tea-totler like me or a bourbon afficianado.

Knowledge and personable people. The owner came over to chat and tell us all about this family business. The drinks and charcuterie were FANTASTIC and the live music helped build a comfortable and relaxing vibe. I’d recommend it to anyone. I’d give it more stars if I could! Denise and Stephen are so welcoming and kind. The barrel experience is definitely worth it! They let you take your time and taste everything, while also offering guidance and some fun stories along the way! I can’t recommend this spot enough. Whether you are looking for a comfortable spot for a nice drink, or a full date night experience! My husband and I LOVED it!

I wanted to give a shout out to the crew at Barrel House STL in St. Louis, Missouri for a great experience yesterday. They had 4 different mash bills of whiskey & bourbon at various barrel proofs and age you can thief straight out of the barrel and try. I think they had about 20 barrels there. I have to say the Rye and Barley were my favorite, it was nice to get as many samples of each as you want. Stephen was awesome and very passionate about whiskey . Very cool place, looking forward to going back together with a group of friends soon.

Although I came here for an Old Fashioned drink (and it was great), I also had their slush with floater that was PERFECT on this hot day! I’ll be coming back soon for the whisky flight (and maybe the whisky experience with 22 barrels worth of taste testing! yum!)

I bought my husband the whiskey experience for his birthday. I didn’t do the tasting with him but I still enjoyed the cocktails, atmosphere, and customer service! He absolutely loved the idea and made himself a great blend to bring home. We both had a wonderful time and can’t wait to bring our friends next time!
