Great road house restaurant just North of Frederick. The Bloodys were great and so was the food. The onion rings were like doughnuts- the Sweet Potato fries were krinkle cut and were accompanied with a special dipping sauce- the place was clean and had a beautiful outdoor patio / bar which gives great views to the distant valleys. Very cool place – definite must stop.

Four of us came for dinner after seeing a recommendation in the Nordlys guestbook. WOW… the food was absolutely fantastic. Definitely NOT what I expected in the best way possible. The friend steak bites were amazing… so much so that I ordered an extra “to-go” when the kitchen was closing for the night. Everyone who ordered burgers were very happy with their choice, although the Barrel burger was so tall that some clever engineering needed to happen to fit a nice bite in your mouth without losing onion rings. The Chicken Alfredo pizza was also fantastic. Service was great – staff was super friendly and playful. We initially were eating outside with an amazing view of a storm rolling in… until it started to rain on us (so we moved to a table inside). Definitely add it to one of your stops if you’re in the area!

Went on Valentine’s night (so I can understand it can be a busy evening) but the dining room wasn’t full and the wait time for food was almost 2 hours. Plus our steak wasn’t cooked well or as ordered. Extremely disappointed by the server only offering a verbal apology and the number of times guests around us were told how busy they were to explain their extremely long waits as well. We promptly left with our food in boxes instead of escalating so we could get our children to bed late.
This is our third plus time visiting in the last 5 years and the experience has been poor every time. We won’t be back.

Opted for the Wednesday special – chicken and ribs. The broasted chicken is crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked and juicy inside. It is set off so well by the bbq rib portion next to it. The restaurant was having a busy evening, but the service was absolutely flawless. My cute, young server, Hannah, was the perfect combo of friendly and professional.

This is my very first review of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’m not a person that complains. I live in the area, and was craving prime rib. I looked at the web site, and that was supposed to be the Saturday night special. I was told it was a t-bone special. Being disappointed, I was still craving steak. So I ordered the special. I order my steaks medium rare. It was very well done and gray looking. And extremely thin. No grill marks. Cooked in a frying pan. The sides were fine. The onion rings my husband ordered were really good. They made me another steak and I took it to go. The steak was twice the size and cooked medium rare, but there was a huge knife cut out of the middle of the steak. Not worth the money. The waitress was wonderful and we tipped her well regardless the meal disappointment.

I have had pizza here before and it was always worth coming back to. Tonite was definitely the exception. Ordered pizza “to go” so I had no idea how horrible it was 10 minutes later. The crust was so hard, hardly any sauce and the toppings were sparce. Everything slid right off the crust when trying to eat. I am very disappointed and will not order pizza ever again here. It wasn’t busy for being Halloween evening so I do not know what the excuse from your staff good ever be. The Halloween scarry pizza it definitely was great job!

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. They had a very busy day earlier with family friendly fun so the bar was empty and inviting by the time we got there around 7. Shelly (our bartender) was one of the most genuine, kindest souls I’ve ever met! Very sweet lady, welcoming atmosphere and DELICIOUS food!!

Hello Betty and team. Thank you again for hosting our private event. In August we lost our mother unexpectedly and needed a venue with plenty of space and good food to host a celebration of life. Betty was able to allow us exclusive use of the venue for our 130 plus guests. I heard several compliments on the food and our guests enjoyed having the dining room, bar, and the outdoor patio is great! This venue also has lots of green space where children can run and play safely. Thank you again for making a tough day the best it could be. If you are hosting any type of event where you need space and great food and service in Burnett or Polk county this is your spot for weddings, birthday, fundraisers, holiday parties, celebrations of life, and other special events. I have been coming here since visiting in Amery, so a bit of a drive but it is so worth it. The food is unbelievable and so creative. From the duck wontons, Rueben bites to the peanut butter burger. I cannot say enough great things about this place and the owner. She is a delight. When you’re here don’t forgot to look for the hidden barrel! Run don’t walk to this place…actually get in your car and make the trek. You won’t be disappointed!
