My son and I were recommended to this establishment by the bartender at the Crown & Anchor for the best tacos and bowls around. You order food at a window, pay (card only), take your number, and they will bring the food out when it’s done. You pick up your alcoholic drinks from a different window.
The male cashier was short and unfriendly. The female server who brought the food out was pleasant.
We enjoyed the nachos and queso. The mole chicken taco, beef tacos, and beef bowl were excellent. Our margaritas were basic but strong and competitively priced for the size.
The business is housed in an old Gulf gas station. Picnic and low-top outdoor seating. Fans and warmers for the changing weather. Flush toilets and restrooms are available. Daily specials. Located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood with lovely shotgun houses.

AMAZING! Such a cute spot and such amazing food. The pork tacos were our favs easily but everything was fantastic. The chips & queso were unreal. And they give you more chips if you need it. An easy 5 star place. Make the trip over on the ferry and you will simply not regret it. The views are also so great on the ferry. Awesome tacos, awesome service, great space.

So good! Popped by here for a quick bite when I was walking around Algiers, really enjoyed it.
I had the shrimp taco and a jarritos, I don’t remember how much it was but probs less than $10 total. The taco was so good! Go easy on the green chilli sauce though!
Loved the vibe too, outdoor seating was great, they had parasols and fans for sunny days. Super chill, super tasty, and great value for money. 10/10 recommend if you’re in the area!

A small taco stall located in the old gas station. Simple menu but really tasty tacos. We finished the first round and had to order more.
We plan to come again if we are back to New Orleans.

No frills, order at the counter, seat yourself taco stand. We lived every minute of it! The tacos were great – both chicken and steak. They are big! The quesadilla was a surprise hit. Who would have thought a quesadilla could taste that much different. Go here to eat!!

Food is delicious! Food is delicious! I had the fish tacos, the steak tacos, and the chicken tacos and a michelada. Everything was delicious. These are flour tortillas, not corn, but the meat and fish were well seasoned! A little pricey, as one fish taco was a little over $5, but perhaps that is the normal price in this area. For reference I’m from Jersey where tacos are 3 for $5. Nonetheless, it is worth it and I’ll be back for dinner!

Great tacos, chips and guac, good margaritas, and a nice patio seating setup. A perfect place to spent a warm evening.

Barracuda Taco Stand is one of those fun, casual taco spots in New Orleans that’s perfect when you’re craving fresh, bold flavors without a big sit-down vibe. The moment you walk in, it feels relaxed — taco stand energy with bright flavors and fast, friendly service.
The tacos here are the star: soft corn tortillas loaded with options like grilled fish, carne asada, al pastor, and creative seasonal fills — all balanced with fresh toppings and vibrant sauces that make each bite pop. The portions are generous without being too heavy, which is awesome if you want a satisfying meal that still feels light and flavorful.
What I personally love most about Barracuda is how authentic and fun the food feels. It’s not trying to be fancy — it’s just delicious, straightforward tacos done very well. Pair your order with a cold drink or one of their house salsas, and you’ve got a perfect quick bite in the heart of the city.

The cashier Kyrie I believe it was, she was so sweet and offered some great suggestions! Everything that she suggested was tasty from the fish tacos, the beef (sirloin steak) tacos, chicken tacos to the mangonada was delicious! The atmosphere was nice, clean and quiet. Although it was hot out the misters kept me cool as I enjoyed my meal. I will definitely be visiting again!

Amazing tacos—absolutely worth the ferry ride to Algiers Point! The neighborhood vibe is great and laid-back. Chips were thin and airy, the fish tacos had the perfect crunch fresh out of the fryer, and the guac was spot on with just the right spice plus a fun crunch from pomegranate and pepitas. Really well done—go now!
