If you are thinking of going, don’t. Terrible and slow service. We arrived for lunch to an almost empty restaurant. We ordered drinks that, while good, took almost twenty minutes to arrive. The appetizers arrived before the drinks. The guacamole and chicharrones were good, and the guac was freshly made. The drinks finally arrived and they were on point as well. The shared special arrived and it was well prepared and good. There was no sign of our hamburger after we were done with the special. The burger for our friend finally arrived, and she had to eat alone. When we tried to address the situation with the server, she jokingly and condescendingly dismissed our concern and sarcastically pointed out that we were hungry and should order another hamburger. We asked for the bill, and even though an 18% service charge is already included, both the system and the server asked for additional tipping.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully made and beautifully presented.

What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the waiter, Rey. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and making us feel genuinely welcome. His positive attitude added so much to the meal.

I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Extremely disappointing. I made the unfortunate mistake of choosing this restaurant to spend my Valentine’s Day with my wife. I only got to try the guacamole and the steak tacos because the rest of the food never came (even after multiple inquiries). After an hour waiting and not even getting a water refill we had to call it and asked for the check for what we were able to consume and called it a night. The gentleman in the table next to us was sitting quietly watching his companion finish her meal, because his hadn’t arrived either. The irony is that they were seated a while after us. I believe refilling a water glass and serving the people at a table at the same time are basics of good restaurant service and I didn’t see anything that would amount to that tonight. The waiter didn’t even make an attempt to get us to stay around and the apology was insincere. Truly a waste of a special night for us. I wish I’d seen the prior reviews from a couple months back earlier which mention similar experiences of long waits, bad service, and ruined special occasions.

A very pleasant place to be with friends and family. The space is very nice and comfortable. Their dishes are truly delicious. The children’s menu is quite simple, but there are options on the main menu. The price is reasonable for the quality. 100% recommended.

Jesus, the manager, made sure everything was perfect, and Christian, our waiter, was incredibly attentive and friendly. You can really feel the care and pride they put into their work. Great Lively Atmosphere! The DJ was on point with every track! Very hard to talk to people at the table though. Service was wonderful and very accommodating! The chorizo queso and carne asada are musts. Water was dripping on tables and people from the vents above but thankful they had other tables to move us to!

The exceptional location and attentive staff have left us in awe. We embarked on a culinary journey with an early dinner, and the food was nothing short of extraordinary. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and general manager, who made us feel like cherished members of their family. We wholeheartedly recommend visiting this establishment and indulging in their delectable food and beverages.

We absolutely LOVED this place: food and drinks were AMAZING, seafood tostada was our favorite dish and tuna taquitos as an app were incredible.

“Chef Margarita” I think it’s called my favorite drink which is a margarita with Aperol and tangerine juice.

Fish tacos were also really good!

We’ll be back soon ❤️

Great Food and Setting, but Beware the “Tourist Trap” Service and Misleading Promos…
My experience at Barra Vieja in Doral was a mix of the excellent and the frustrating. There were definite highlights, but significant service issues left a sour taste that overshadows the potential of this spot.

The restaurant has a great setting—the outdoor area promised a lovely ambiance. More importantly, the food was awesome. Whatever I ordered initially met high expectations and spoke to the kitchen’s potential. Disappointed of ny experience began to fall apart when I arrived expecting an advertised “all day happy hour” for outside tables, as explicitly stated on their website. The bartender informed me it actually ran from 2 PM to 8 PM. When I presented their own website as proof of the “all day” claim, he dismissed it as “not outdated” in a baffling contradiction, which made me feel misled. It was telling that I was the only person in the entire restaurant at that time.
Things worsened when I ordered guacamole, which came with an absurdly small amount of chips. Asking for more resulted in a separate, hefty charge of $6.99 for extra chips—a classic nickel-and-dime move that feels very unwelcoming.
The Dealbreaker was that the service experience warranted, in my opinion, a 1% tip. However, I was charged a mandatory 18% gratuity. This felt like a “tourist trap” tactic, ensuring a high tip regardless of the poor service provided.

While the atmosphere and the actual quality of the food were fantastic, the management’s deceptive advertising and the unaccommodating service regarding basic items like chips make it hard to recommend. The mandatory 18% charge locks you into paying for a service level that simply wasn’t delivered. Potential customers should visit with caution.
