Burgers were home made not pressed with a machine so were super juicy and fresh. Onion rings and fries were great. Service was fast and accurate. Will definitely be back when I’m in town.

Since I moved to Alta Vista a little more than five years ago, I’ve learned a few things… What I’ve learned about the Barnyard is that you can expect consistently excellent cheeseburgers made the old-fashioned way, breakfast done right (they actually know how to fry hash browns properly!), pizza with plenty of toppings and lots of cheese, great big chicken fried steaks, homemade fried chicken (Friday: all you can eat!), and a good salad bar. Steaks are good, pie is good, it’s all good. I’ve really never been disappointed with a meal here. And, last but not least, the pricing is very reasonable. I’ve never felt like I overpaid or that I didn’t get a filling meal. I recommend it to anyone passing through Alta Vista, and it’s well worth making a slight detour off of the highway.

This is a delicious gem in a beautiful little town! Crystal was awesome! She was genuine and took the time to find out why we were in town and then went the extra mile to make a connection in town for us to add to our visit.The barnyard burger was the best I have had and the fresh strawberry pie was to die for! It was no surprise to see the cafe fill up for the lunch hour!
