My wife and son ordered the Southern Crispy Chicken Sandwich, my daughter got corn dogs, and I ordered the Buffalo Mac & Cheese. All the food came out… except mine. Can you guess whose order was wrong? Not my wife’s this time, not the kids’ — mine.
The waitress took it back and said it would be a few more minutes. No problem. My wife waited to eat until I told her to go ahead, assuming mine would be right out. Five minutes passed. Then ten. Around the fifteen-minute mark, my food finally arrived — long after my entire family had finished eating.
To add to it, my daughter asked for ketchup, which never came out either. And again, the place was NOT busy.
Now let’s talk about the food. $24 for Buffalo Mac & Cheese that had zero flavor. Bland cheese sauce, some chopped scallions for appearance, and one chicken tender cut up and tossed in buffalo sauce. That’s it. Honestly, Wawa’s Buffalo Mac & Cheese tastes better and costs a third of the price.
At this point, I was beyond annoyed. The waitress apologized, but what really pushed it over the edge was when the bill came — and the meal was still fully charged. So not only did my family finish their meals before mine arrived, but I was still expected to pay full price for it?
Is customer service dead at Great Wolf Lodge Perryville, Maryland? Because for day one, this was not a good start. We paid the bill, but I won’t be returning to Barnwood anytime soon.
Service: 1.5/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Food: 1.2/5
Overall: 2.37/5 — and they’re lucky they even got that.
Comment below if you agree:
A) The meal should have stayed on the bill and been paid for.
B) Customer service should’ve stepped in and comped the meal without me having to ask.
C) I should’ve complained and asked why I was being charged.
For this dinner we ordered the loaded baked French frie app , the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, smokehouse sandwich, chicken Alfredo and kids chicken tender meal.
Nashville sandwich got good food. Very spicy but great flavor. A smokehouse sandwich was okay. The pulled pork was very dry and overcooked. Chicken Alfredo was okay. It definite needed Italian seasoning and some Parmesan cheese and came out cold.
Chicken tender meal consisted of two very small tenders. We were shocked at house small / little chicken it came with.
3 entrees, a kids meal and two glasses of wine came to $118.
I am currently staying at the hotel and dined at the restaurant tonight with my two young children (ages 4 and 6). Unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. After we finished our main course, we waited 30 minutes before our server, Kelly B, returned to the table. When the dessert finally arrived, it was served without spoons, and our used dinner plates were never cleared. I hope the management provides additional training to ensure the service matches the quality of the stay to Kelly B . Definitely ask for somebody else other than Kelly b when you go here
CONs: Restaurant was dirty, with cherry stems on the seat and table when we arrived. The floor had food and crayons all over.
Shady “deal” in which they advertise (big LED sign by the front door) saying “Buy two adult entrees, get a free kids meal” (Tu-Thurs). Went in on a Wednesday night with our three kids after seeing the deal. Wife got a chicken bowl and I got a Smokehouse burger w fries. When asked why they didn’t take one of the kids’ meals off the bill, they claimed “burgers don’t count”… “but salads do.”
Can they show me that anywhere? No. Check out the picture for yourself.
No section of the menu is labeled “Entrees” and the salads are less expensive than the burgers, so their alleged policy doesn’t hold up logically. They had two individuals.. whoever.. come out and they claimed the same thing. They need to be up-front if they’re going to advertise such a “deal.” Otherwise, I’m not interested in returning if they want to operate like this.
They could use a little expansion on their menu selections and relax a tad bit on their resort pricing, other than that, all is good and worth the visit.
