We had three Ribeyes all of which were superb and one haddock that was also superb.
We had excellent team service gear desserts and a first class evening.
I highly recommend you try it!
I question whethee the steak was actually a sirloin steak. I’ve ordered them for years and it’s never looked like this. Also. The steak had no flavor at all. It was very bland.
The servers were great. Unfortunately, the chatter coming from the kitchen wasn’t. He continuously used profanity and even used a racial slur multiple times. At first, I thought I was hearing things. Unfortunately, he repeated it several times.
Between the bland steak and the guy in the kitchen, I was over it. I asked for my check and I left. I didn’t even finish my food.
The salad was the best part of the night!
We had been here once before several years ago and simply hadn’t gotten around to coming back. I am so glad we did! Everything about our experience was warm and welcoming. As we were seated we were asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday. My husband told them he was and they noted that. Noise level in the area we were seated in (around the corner from the salad bar and up the short set of stairs) was normal, minus a couple of boys from a large party nearby. There was nothing the restaurant could have done, though, and they eventually settled down.
Our waiter, Tyler, added to the warm and welcoming feeling and did an excellent job of making sure we had what we needed without encroaching. If you can, ask for him – truly did a great job! He also made sure my husband received his celebratory dessert at the end of our meal.
The food was outstanding. I absolutely love a good salad bar and they are increasingly hard to find. This one was well-stocked with an assortment of options and also offered warm bread with cheese that could be cut and spread on (delicious!). Butter was on the table at room temp and easy to spread.
We ordered the larger Filet with Bernaise sauce and rice pilaf and Tenderloin with Cabernet sauce and upcharged for the garlic mashed. Both steaks were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The tenderloin was the star for me as I truly loved the sauce. Rice pilaf good as well and the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome. I didn’t realize the upcharge was the same as ordering it as a side; next time I would probably order rice and add it as an additional side.
We ended up with two desserts – the birthday brownie sundae (soooo good, the brownie was super soft and so rich) and the fried ice cream with caramel sauce, bananas, and pecans. I have never had fried ice cream with these toppings and it was amazing! 2 huge portions but we ate almost all of them because they were just too good!
Highly recommend trying this place if you haven’t already. We will be back much sooner than before.
The wait staff was a bit overreaching and touchy, so just a warning there.
Started off fine with a friendly staff and an old school vibe …the salad bar was decent…warm bread a bonus. But then we got some food…a
Seafood Tower app…well…it was not a “tower” at all…a side plate with reheated frozen apps with 2 of the saddest luke warm shrimp cocktail we’ve ever seen. Terrible…but we were out having a fun night , so we laughed it off , figuring the dinners would be better .
Well an hour later and very attentive waiter checking on the food twice for us…it finally came.
My brother in law got a medium rare rib eye…it was un recognizable in shape and when he cut into it , all white fat and sinew…when he finally hit actual steak…it was closer to well done …
Not to be over shadowed was their world famous prime rib 16 Oz cut…not only was it maybe 10 Oz, but it was a hunk of gristle and fat…and literally falling apart becasue of all the loosened connective tissue….sounds yummy right!? Waiter was great and agreed this was unacceptable and took them.both back to the kitchen.
My wife, however, was left with a dried out, obviously microwaved bowl of rock.hard overcooked tasteless shrimp scampi in a sea of withered old linguine. When I tell you this was the worst pasta dish we have ever seen and tasted …I am.dead serious. It was a plate of sorrow.
The beef dishes came back after another 30 minutes …visually better than before , but tasteless and over 50% inedible fat and gristle …
Chocolate mousse cake was very good…obviously NOT made in house.
So now over 3 hours have passed…we are tired and still hungry…waiter and waitresses were great…but no Manager came over …no concern at all…if you are charging $50 a steak…it better be damn good…this was not.
They are serving Olive Garden food at Salt and Char prices …shame on current management for allowing quality to plummet as it has…
Wait staff were very attentive as well. It is the kind of place though where they don’t rush you, but also take forever if you indicate your ready to leave.
Would be 5 stars, but the rib eye was a disappointment. I ordered medium to ensure the fat was rendered properly and it came more on the well side. The outside of the steak was so charred so much all I could taste was char. I did not mention it to the wait staff, they probably would of sent it back for me with how good the service was. But as black as the steak was I don’t think it should of been served. It may be a culinary choice to serve steaks charred there.
