Tucked away from the crowds in beautiful Talega, San Clemente, CA, Barnoa Wine & Beer Bistro has been dubbed a hidden gem by local patrons. Barnoa is much more than a wine bar – it’s a wine shop stacked with interesting finds, a taphouse with an incredible rotating selection of beers, a bistro with food that’s better than any photo could possibly show, and MOST importantly, it’s a favorite gathering spot for all of our friends and neighbors in Talega and the greater San Clemente area.

Great wine and even better food!!! If you are in the San Clemente area this place is a GREAT stop!!! We got the barbecue chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and the acorn squash with added chicken as an entrée. Both weee absolutely AMAZING! We will definitely be back!!!

Located in Talega, Barnoa is a great little hidden gem for great wine, great food and a fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend trying the burger and the salmon for food choices, and Aaron the Trespasser and The Scrapper for red wine choices. Barnoa also has a great wine club that is a great price and gets you some great wine quarterly and saves you a bit of money every time you come in as well!

Super impressed by this place. We will definitely go to Barnoa Wine Company again. We were here on a Friday for Happy Hour. The wine was delicious and the charcuterie board very good. We sat outside and they did a great job making it feel secluded. Live music is always a plus for us. They say it’s a “hidden gem”, and we agree.

My girlfriend and I went to Barnoa in the evening, during the week. The wine selection is decent, the service wasn’t bad and the food was very good for a wine bar. More food selections than the average wine bar with charcuterie or cheese plates. They have live music, while the live music was good, for a small place it threw off the ambiance, causing the people in the place to try and talk over the music. I’m 42 and I was a baby compared to the other people there age wise.

The busser Braden is a quality worker. We sat down for at least an hour and a half, we witness this young man hustling from the time we got there to the time we left. On top of the that, the food and service was overall beyond what we could have asked for.

They will accept an order on DoorDash, despite the main item being out of stock. Nothing is communicated until the order arrives with a “out of stock” handwritten note on the receipt. They still charge the full amount and then close the restaurant for delivery shortly after. Over an hour’s wait to find out the main item is missing. Awful customer experience.

I knew the food at Barnoa was good (we’re regulars), but today we experienced their brunch for the first time. It was fantastic! Chef Mario has outdone himself with the menu. The avocado toast was the best I’ve ever tasted; it comes with a fresh salad and can be complemented with a side of egg or sausage. Cinnamon rolls, coffee, and mimosas made us happy. Next time we’ll try the lox, which is made in-house. Yum! Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, 10 – 2pm
