I would say overall I would give this place 5 . Had breakfast and lunch there. Breakfast was really good, only thing is apples didn’t have a lot of flavor but everything else was excellent. Service during breakfast was a bare minimum. Waitress only served us, never ask if needed anything else or even a drink refill- spent all her time talking to a local guy. Now… lunch was exceptional! Got meatloaf and mashed potatoes and deviled eggs with roll. Husband got a hamburger and fries. Meatloaf was delicious! Mashed potatoes and deviled eggs homemade also and were delicious as well. My husband enjoyed the hamburger also. The waitress was 100% on point and so deserved her kudos- that she was so attentive and very friendly and made sure we didn’t need anything Fabulous waitress!! I would go there again but if got the same morning waitress I believe I would just have to ask for someone that was going to give service to others not just one guy. O- and they have a map on the wall where you can pun it from where you are visiting from, I thought was pretty cool.

We are locals wanted to shop local but the 1st place we went they never spoke to us at all . So we tried Barney’s sweetest young lady took care of us. We had a great meal and felt appreciated! Excellent service

We were having a Mayberry Day with family visiting from out of town. We had just gotten into town and took a walk down Main Street. We decided to stop in Barneys Cafe for a bite to eat. We were able to sit right away and the server quickly greeted us. My sister got the daily special, the Hamburger Steak with no gravy. My wife also got a daily special, Chicken Pot Pie with a side salad and an additional side of Beets. The Beets wee delicious. Chicken pot pie was average as was my sisters. I got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, it was not bad, my niece and nephew both got Bacon Cheeseburgers. It was a nice experience.

First time to “Mayberry” and we couldn’t have picked a better place for lunch. You can really feel the small town vibes. Fast service and friendly people. The food was simple but fantastic. The chocolate pie is delicious and all the desserts are homemade. It was difficult to choose! My kids loved the fresh lemonade. Thank you for making our day trip memorable!

Nice little cafe to eat at for nostalgia purposes. We stopped in for dessert. They make/bake their own desserts. I had coconut pie, and my husband had caramel cake. Both tasted very good. Service was great and prices reasonable. Be aware that seating is tight if you use a wheelchair.

I would definitely recommend stopping in here and having a bite to eat. We got breakfast. The price is reasonable, and the amount of food you get is abundant. The service was fast and friendly, and the decor was all Mayberry. We even came back for cake and pie that afternoon.

Exactly what we were hoping to find in Mt Airy. Not fancy, but they do it right. I got the Hawaiian chicken plate. The chicken breast was tender cooked, topped with provolone, bacon ( lots of that) and a grilled pineapple slice. I got the mash potato bake and coleslaw. From years of working in a restaurant I find myself being judgy on coleslaw, but this was great. There was also a really good corn bread muffin. The family was happy with their burgers too. The waitress was quick, the place was quaint and clean. We left full. We left happy. Hope you all take home to go!

Atmosphere is that of a small town diner. Good service with a smile and a real effort to make you feel at home. I wish I had a place like this near me. You could tell they knew their customers and what they wanted before they even sat down.
