We are a true locals bar and have been part of the community in Hermosa Beach since 2006. We have a full liquor bar, ice cold beers, pool table, multiple TV’s to enjoy all of your favorite sports, and a great patio to enjoy the beautiful Hermosa Beach weather. In addition, Barnacles focuses on being a bar with high quality food. We don’t just have bar food as one would expect, we have exquisite dishes like Vietnamese Pho, our famous 5 cheese Mac-N-Cheese, and various daily specials like. Bet you wouldn’t find another bar with this kind of superior food. And last but not least one of our big pluses is our amazingly fun and outgoing staff.

Barnacles is one of those spots you end up at way longer than planned—and I’m not mad about it. It’s just steps from the beach, super casual and definitely has that divey local vibe… but the food is actually really good. Like, I love their pho, the teriyaki bowl and of course dive bar staples, chicken strips, tacos etc—and everything hits.
But the real reason I keep coming back? The bartenders. Both Alexis’, Rachael, Alex, and of course Rainey—they always take care of you, heavy pours and great energy. It’s giving lowkey beach bar with hot bartender energy. You know the type.
It’s not fancy, it’s not trying to be—it’s just a fun, chill spot with good food and even better drinks. I’ll definitely be back… probably in flip flops and ordering pho with a tequila soda. Don’t judge me.

Excellent locals spot with good bar food and beers. The fried zucchini sticks are always a good choice for appetizers. So are the jalapeno poppers. The cheesesteak or chicken sandwich are good meal options. Get a beer.

Great Staff! They do it right. Spent a week out in Hermosa and visited three times. One was in the afternoon to pick up my hoodie I left the night before. I didn’t have hope it would be there but, it was! They were nice enough to bag it up and put it away. All in all, it’s a great place to hang out. Definitely a dive bar. lol, but in a good way. Loud, rowdy and they have a pool table that’s 5 bucks for unlimited play. It’s not a great one, but not the worst I’ve seen either. Drinks are somewhat expensive for the type of bar it is, but it’s Hermosa Beach, so I guess that’s to be expected. I would go back.

Bartender is / was an absolute jerk, too cool for school, giving off an attitude from the very beginning, didn’t get any better even after ordering a couple simple beers and making payment. Wow. Making an effort to ignore certain people, who knows why, maybe he doesn’t like normal looking people who are just thirsty and hanging out, maybe he should find another place to work. I highly un-recommend this place because of the bartender. Even his bus boy thought his bartender boss was a jerk.
