Reviews
Bark BBQ is the kind of humble place you could drive past a hundred times and never realize you just missed greatness. Family‑owned, small but functional, unassuming—and absolutely doing it right. The moment I swung my door open in that cold air , my senses lit up. That primal hunter’s soul feeling, smoky scent drifting from the smoker wasn’t just an aroma; it was a summons from food lover gods.
The menu reads like something you’d expect to find deep in the Carolinas or Texas, not a short ride south of Quincy. But here it is: real BBQ, no shortcuts, no sugar‑coated cheats—just hours of honest smoke, simple rubs, and meats that crackle because they earned it.
Yesterday, it hit me good.
My must‑orders:
Burnt ends — rich, caramelized, and ridiculous in the best way.
Brisket — tender, juicy, and full of that deep smoke ring.
Pulled pork — melt‑in‑your‑hands good.
Cucumber salad — crisp, cool, and the perfect counterbalance.
Cornbread — yes, four pieces… and no regrets.
Even the buns were perfect. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and crafted with real care. This little shop packs a heavyweight punch that left me completely blown away. That and squeaky clean.
And the sauces? Let’s just say they deserved some alone time. They weren’t making it home with me—no chance. Sitting there with ribs, wings kissed with jerk spice, and that nose‑tingling fragrance of the smoker rolling through the room… it all made perfect sense. This is food made with love, pride, and a whole lot of patience.
Trust me: give it a whirl if you dare. I’m already planning my return—hungry.
Everything was so good that we didn’t mind that our teams lost. We had the ribs, chicken, pulled pork & chicken. It is so hard to decide which was out favorite.
We fully intend to have the leftovers for today’s games. Go Patriots!
P.S. the staff are amazing
I have dined alone. I have brought clients, friends and family. I have brought take-out to my home 30 minutes to 6 hours away, depending on Boston traffic. Its always good. No, im mistaken. Its always excellent! So aren’t the leftovers, if you have self control. My suggestion is trying it early and often.
