AVOID!
Arrived and put in to the upstairs seating and with no heating the room was absolutely freezing causing our food to go cold within minutes.
Staff did not care and shrugged it off. When confronted the staff took £5 off.

Then the food the best part was the food that was fried the wings and chips. The burger bun wasn’t toasted it was burnt. No milk shakes and a whole load of drinks not available as well as things on the food menu

With all the nice places to eat at bath this place will not be there long

After seeing mixed reviews we decided to roll the dice because myself and my partner were craving some good ribs.

We had booked, unsure how busy it might be, but were the only customers when we got there. We were seated by a lovely waitress, who returned for our orders quickly. The food and drink were quick to arrive and the portion sizes were impressive.
There was a man sitting in the middle of the restaurant, loudly watching videos on his phone and eyeing us. I assume he is the manager or owner because when more customers entered, he barked for the waitresses attention and then continued to watch his videos from the semi-open kitchen pass at the end of the room. The restaurant was cold too. Between the two, the atmosphere wasn’t very inviting.

Our half rack of ribs each was a bit cold and the burnt ends were dry. The crispy jalapeños were so oily that I couldn’t eat them (and I’m not one to turn my nose up at food!). The buffalo wings where good, I must say.
The stairs up to the toilet were a bit tired, and the first unisex cubicle I came to was filthy. The second was passable enough to use, but it wasn’t a comfortable experience.

Once again, the waitress was lovely, and was darting around the restaurant, seemingly holding the place together, but we will not be returning and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone

14/02/2026. I had a booking for 2 people at 5pm. We ordered the tower share at £49.50. We have been a few times before and have never had any issues. Although on this day a table sat in front of us made it known to the young woman working that the way her burger was cooked was inedible. I cut into my burger and it was still pink. My husband had eaten half of his before he had noticed. I brought it to the attention of the young girl who I believe to called Emilie. A few minutes later we were approached at our table to be told “the burgers are freshly prepared and are smash patties therefore can be served that way and that they were cooked and not raw”. I wasn’t happy with the response and to who was dealing with this applied 10% discount on our bill, deducting £5.90. Around midnight and 3am my husband who had eaten half of his burger had thrown up at the times stated and had abdominal pain. Myself, who did not eat any of the burger was not sick. I have previously worked in an establishment that uses smashed patties and have never served one that was still pink in the middle and proceed to say “it’s ok because it’s freshly prepared and is a smashed patty” A “smashed patty” may well be freshly prepared, but still should be cooked all the way through/well done resulting in the patties being completely brown and not needing a pink inside/centre. The heat from the smash iron may appropriately have given the patty a safe internal temperature but I still strongly disagree these burgers were not cooked all the way through and served raw.

Popped into Bare Grills during our Bank Holiday weekend trip to Bath and it was exactly what we needed. As a family of four, finding a place that satisfies everyone can be a challenge, but the BBQ here is top-notch. The quality of the meat was spot on—properly smoked and fell off the bone. The atmosphere was buzzing and the staff handled the holiday rush really well, very friendly with the kids. As a tradesman, I appreciate a place that doesn’t skimp on portions—you definitely won’t leave here hungry! Great value for money and a brilliant spot for a casual family meal. MJK Roofing will definitely be back next time we’re in Somerset.

Absolutely disappointed.
The first impression was already strange. Cold and stinky restaurant and no smokey smell at all.
Ordered two cider. Got two bottles not even glasses.
I ordered the bare grill combo. £30
Food was cold not even reached the 63C what basic food hygiene criteria. (I just hope don’t get food poisoning)
No smokiness at all. I can create more smokey flavor with one single coal.
The pork rib was the same time under and overcooked.(don’t know how they achieved this)
Chicken wing so so but cold a bit.
Sausage is very bad quality cannot find meat in there.
Pulled pork was rubbish no taste, cold, simply disgusting.
Very average bbq sauce, fries and pickles.
I was waiting for this some time to try that bbq place.
Bbq is my passion and I really wanted a good experience in there. I feel robbed and cheated.

Came across Bare Grills on Saturday night and they were able to squeeze us in without a booking. The service was quick, the portions were huge, and the bill was a bargain. Would absolutely come back again and recommend to all.

Visited with my husband and 12 year old son after friends recommended the restaurant. Food is great – large portions, lovely tasty burgers and interesting choices for mains and sides. Reasonably priced too.

However the service was dreadful. We were sat upstairs where it was cold and there was no atmosphere despite there being tables available downstairs when we arrived. We were then abandoned for 20 mins – I even wondered if we were supposed to go to the bar and order or order via an app but there were no such instructions on the menu. Eventually the server appeared, asked if we wanted to order (obviously yes!) then proceeded to carry on cleaning some tables before then disappearing again to find an iPad. When we did order she rushed through it, I asked for onion rings and was told there weren’t any but wasn’t given a chance to choose another side. Soft drink was served in a can with no glass / ice offered and there was no water brought to the table.

There is an ‘optional’ 10% service charge but it didn’t feel very optional when the card machine was quickly produced and the amount typed in without checking if that was OK. My advice – slow down and focus on each customer a bit more, you will end up with higher sales as they’ll order more items – especially if you engaged in conversation and made suggestions from the menu.

Visited Bare Grills Bath at 8:30pm with a booked table. Despite plenty of empty tables, we were seated by a window that had ketchup smeared all over the window next to it, which smelled unpleasant. When we mentioned it, the waitress laughed and told us how “funny” it was because a previous customer had squirted ketchup everywhere earlier. There was no apology and no attempt to clean it, which immediately set a bad tone.

The restaurant was freezing cold – customers were wearing coats and jackets. The table itself was sticky, and I wasn’t given a knife while my partner was. Staff were laughing and joking with the chefs near the kitchen, which we normally wouldn’t mind, but combined with everything else it felt unprofessional, like they were just waiting to close.

We ordered a shared platter and the food was very disappointing. The burgers were dry, pink, flavourless, the corn on the cob had an off, meaty smell, the burnt ends were extremely dry with a metallic taste, and the pulled pork was cold and tasted like pre-packed supermarket pork. The wings were only enjoyable because they were hot, and the onion rings and pickles were okay.

The whole experience felt rushed, the atmosphere was unpleasant, there was no toilet roll in the toilet, and the carpet leading to it looked musty.

Overall, a really disappointing visit with poor hygiene, poor service, and below-average food. Won’t be returning.

I do want to add that each interaction with our waitress was good. She seemed like a lovely girl who was efficient and personable. It’s just a shame that aspects came across as unprofessional

We got the tower to share.

The ribs were tough and salty, the bbq really wasn’t that great.

The burgers were ok, alot of crispy onions though. Had to take some out.

Wings, burnt ends and pulled pork were average. Not worth how much they charge.

Best part of the meal was the onion rings, which were really nice actually.

Wouldn’t go back

I went there with my 2 sisters and ordered ome of their sharrer platter and pulled pork loaded fries as well as some of the drinks firstly the prices on the menu are horrentdous for the quality of everything the pulled pork and the ribs tasted like they were bought in iceland and defrosted by some hot breaths from the chef when i defecatee the ribs later that day i bet they tastes the same as when they went down the hatch honestly if they want to run a restaurant the best advice i can give them is to learn how to actually cook beacuse shoving food down a microwave and decorating a room nicely doesmt make you a decemt establishment but at least they gave us all the honest gift of tummy aches and various toilet sessions that i enjoyed more than eating their food to be frank and finally they had the audacity to add a service charge for what?
