A huge shoutout to Hailey, who made the evening even better with her warm and attentive service. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right.
If you’re looking for great food, fantastic drinks, and outstanding service, Bardenay is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!
The atmosphere is loud, and it’s hard to hear your own conversation. We were seated next to a larger table that kept getting up and standing next to us to talk to another table. Overall, we would return for the cocktails and appetizers and probably stick to a burger and fries.
Perk of eating here, we were able to get nice and toasty off the drinks and walk to our hotel room at the Riverside Hotel.
The main dish, though pretty, wasn’t too tasty at all. In fact, had I not been starving, I wouldn’t have eaten as much as I did. But they were redeemed by the dessert!!! It was FANTASTIC. They are a new restaurant so I’m sure they will work the wrinkles out but in the meantime, I’ll come back for the dessert
The separate liquor store sells only their products, and several small batch items which are not available at Idaho State Liquor stores.
Food: I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Bowl for $18 which had a lot of components and really is a great choice for lunch. Sweet chili aioli shrimp, avocado, gochujang marinated cucumbers, edamame, carrots, mango, rice, scallions, sesame seeds, and a side of soy sauce. The marinated cucumbers could be a little crunchier and add a little more sauce on the shrimp pieces to make it perfect. I also had the Sausage and White Bean soup, a cup at $5 and a house salad at $8 would also make a nice lunch.
Service: in 2022, owner Kevin Settles and his wife Lisa sold the company into an employee trust. This seems to help in getting a seasoned, enthusiastic staff each time I have gone to one of their locations. Wednesday, the restaurant was packed, three large groups (we had eighteen) and service was flawless.
My recent visit to Bardenay Distilling on Chinden in Boise was absolutely phenomenal – a solid 5-star experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived with our large group of 14, we felt incredibly welcome. The fact that they handled our separate checks without a moment’s hesitation truly set the tone for an exceptional evening.
The patio is, without a doubt, a highlight. It’s such a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the Boise atmosphere, especially if you’re staying at The Riverside Hotel, as it’s conveniently located right in the same parking lot. You can’t beat that for convenience!
The happy hour menu is where Bardenay truly shines. We were blown away by the quality and value. The ceviche was simply incredible – fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. And the satay? A fantastic value and absolutely delicious.
What really elevated our experience was the incredible service. Laura, Lily, and John deserve special recognition. They were all so attentive, friendly, and efficient, making sure our large group felt completely taken care of. Their professionalism and warm demeanor truly made our visit memorable.
It’s also really cool that Bardenay makes their own spirits right there, and even has an onsite liquor store where you can purchase their creations. This commitment to craftsmanship really comes through in their drinks.
Overall, Bardenay Distilling is a must-visit in Boise. Whether you’re looking for an amazing happy hour, a beautiful patio, or just fantastic food and service, this place delivers. We can’t wait to come back!
