Barca restaurant 85 Columbia Street, Fall River Ma- This place is a little piece of Portuguese culture that is absolutely amazing. So clean and inviting. The owner Luis ais so friendly and his wife Rosa and their kitchen staff is the one that is bringing us the masterpieces of food!
I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of the vid fish dish but it was spectacular. Bacalhua a bras- try it – you won’t be disappointed. The octopus dish was fresh and tender. We also has the “Lapas” – limpets for the appetizer – if you know, you know!
Highly recommend!

I’ll start by saying it is a great presentation. Very clean and elegant. The drinks are great. We had an espresso martini, Super Bock, and of course some Ginjinha. The food was absolutely delicious! From the fresh bread and cheese, to the rack of lamb, and my favorite, the francesinha! We cannot recommend this place enough. We will return!

Last summer we went to Spain and had a salted cod dish that was incredible! It’s been impossible to find someone who makes the fish until I found this place! I made a valentine reservation expecting to get the salted cod and they had a shortened menu for the holiday (the cod was not being served). What we ordered instead was delish, it was just annoying to not be informed prior. I would’ve rather come in a different day since all the reviews rave about the cod dish and other dishes that weren’t included on the shortened menu.
I’ve never had Portuguese food but here is what we ordered: The bread basket was soft, served with butter. We ordered the fresh cheese appetizer, yummy. It’s a very soft and mild cheese, moist. The red pepper sauce was a tiny bit spicy but the spice does not linger. We also ordered the piri pi chicken and shrimp linguine and the sea bass served with veggies and potatoes. We finished our meal off with the rice pudding. The meal was excellent, and we would definitely reorder all of the dishes again. I was expecting to be disappointed by what we ordered but both dishes were flavorful and filling. We plan on returning for date night and with family!
Parking is available on the street but was taken when we arrived. We parked at a free lot up the street.
Service is a little slow but to be expected, based on my European travel experience. It didn’t ruin the experience but don’t expect to get in and out quickly.

Atmosphere was very nice, and the food was delicious. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. I think I found my new favorite Portuguese restaurant.
Update 2/15/25

First time at this restaurant. First impression a nice Portuguese restaurant which was smaller than I thought but had a nice vibe. I’ll post some pictures so you can see. They seemed to have a wall with a large wine selection. I had a sparkling moscato which was delicious. The staff seemed friendly maybe family run service was a little slow I’m guessing maybe short staffed. The menus seemed rather pricey but we all enjoyed are meals. Each plate was a good portion. We had pork and little necks it came with 4 little necks, lamb chops, beef cooked for 6 hours it did have some fat on it but seemed to melt off as you ate it. Beans and Chourico dish which was also flavorful but seemed more like a side dish than an entree to me. Overall I liked the atmosphere and food but difficult if your on a budget. Also they served bread and butter and cheese and bread both with a charge. What I wasn’t a fan of was the water they served us it tasted fine but the bottle was $8.00 which we only found out about on the bill.

This is a quaint place for Portuguese dining. The tables were beautifully set with white tablecloths. I ordered the House Salad, Whiskey & Espresso Bife, & tiramisu. The flavors were delicious. The serving staff were very kind & attentive. Absolutely loved it here.

Portions were small. Service was slow. They put bread on the table and charged you for it. All our meals came out at different times. Never again will we dine there. Oh yeah 3 of us ordered our steak medium rare all were cooked well done

It’s been so hard to find Francesinha in America and I was so excited to finally find a place with it! The ambiance here is super cute and the menus are even beautiful. There’s a second menu on the board near the bar that has Francesinha (they listed it as the Barca Sandwich) and it’s good though it’s different. The egg was in the center of the sandwich rather than on top but the yolk was perfect. Sauce was different but good. The cheese they used on top was American cheese which I would normally not want but it was good and the price for it was super reasonable! Definitely great for the cost.
Wine choices were good. They pour them at the table for you.
A lot of the comments that are on here are pretty true. There was a long wait. No one was here except for us and some people at the bar. One online order came in for a pick up and the food still took about half an hour to come out. TVs we’re on at the bar and there was no music on in the dining area when we were here. The mashed seemed to be boxed kind. They charged a couple bucks for a basket of bread BUT the bread was great and fluffy and warm so it was worth it.
The restrooms were clean, the set up was great. There was even candy near the exit as a little treat to end the meal.
I had a great date regardless and would definitely come back.

Food took over an hour to come out. Plates came out at different times, about 8 minutes apart not together. I ordered the zambique with shrimp, and it was meh! She ordered the tuna steak, and it was rubbery not much flavor to it. Will not come back
