The food was just as good. The fish taco and the ribeye chicharrón taco were incredible, and the guacamole and chips were fresh and delicious. Great service, a beautiful and very clean atmosphere, and such a great spot here in Okd Town Buckeye.
Loved everything about this place and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
The sides were very good. I appreciated they let the carne shine and kept the beans and rice to a modest serving. The salsa and chimichurri were vibrant and fresh.
We will absolutely be back. This restaurant has an upscale vibe and would make a very nice place to have future celebrations.
We got guacamole, which was delicious and the warm chips were perfect. Margaritas were strong. Birria tacos were delicious, and my mom enjoyed the ribeye chicarrones.
Unfortunately, once a couple more tables came in, especially a large table of 6-8, our waiter became less attentive. But I understand, because it was only him.
The first impression was awkward. When you walk into a Mexican restaurant, you expect to be greeted by warm Latin or Tropicana vibes. Instead, we were met with loud EDM-style music that felt completely out of place. We had a reservation but still had to wait, and when we were finally seated, it was at the smallest table possible—barely enough room for two plates. Throughout the meal, we kept asking the server to take things away just to make space. Those dishes weren’t untouched—they were items we actually tried but couldn’t bring ourselves to finish because they completely missed the mark on flavor and quality.
We had to order chips and salsa separately since they’re not complimentary, which was surprising for a Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, the salsa was watery, bland, and had a strange plastic-like taste. Even the water tasted like tap. My birria tacos were dry—something I didn’t think was possible. The piña cocktail tasted pre-mixed and watered down. The only thing that stood out in a positive way was the ribeye aguachile, which was cooked medium-rare as ordered and had good flavor—though, ironically, it had little to no actual agua, leaving the dish drier than expected. The fish taco was subpar but at least edible, which is more than I can say for most of what we tried.
The four-taco platter I ordered ended up being such a disappointment that I brought home what was left so my kids could try it for themselves (not exactly a glowing recommendation). We also asked for limes and never got them, though to be fair, that seemed to be from another staff member—not our main server. Lenny, our server, seemed young but did a great job overall and provided attentive, friendly service despite everything else.
Lastly, the price is rather steep and lacks justification. In all honesty, I would have been more satisfied with Filiberto’s for my anniversary dinner.
Overall, it was a letdown, especially for a special occasion. I truly wanted to like this place, but from the atmosphere to the food quality, nothing matched the expectations for a good, authentic Mexican restaurant.
