Storied Italian bistro & bar known for its housemade garlic bread, thin pies & plentiful pastas.

Our go to place for a few favorites. Wonderful pizza, especially their crust. Thick and drippy garlic bread with meat sauce and a salad. Must try their homemade ranch dressing. And the meatball snack is amazing too! Ask for a “half bake” order and you can finish baking at home.

1-Star Review:
This used to be my favorite place for garlic bread — now I can’t recommend it. I placed a to-go order (it wasn’t ready when I arrived, but that’s not my main issue). My complaint is that the garlic bread was cold, very dry (hardly any butter), and much smaller than it used to be. It used to be delicious, but now it’s mostly crust — hard, dry, and disappointing. If you want great garlic bread, go to Mama Mia’s or the North Lake Inn instead.

This place was one of the first places i ate when i moved to the area. I was taken aback with it’s no frills but 100% comfortable atmosphere. Low lights, stable and simple furniture, and classy but simple decor. The waitstaff proved to be equally wonderful, making you feel like a valued customer instantly with a warm smile. Food. No one will top the feeling i got from that first bite of buttery, garlic infused bread. Crisp and tender and dripping. The lasagna is some of the richest food money can buy, and here at Barbiere’s you will receive top level value. I want this restaurant to last forever.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and I came here after having a few drinks the bar across the street but I have a shellfish allergy and was told my the cook to not eat there. Ok, cool. We go across the street to this establishment “Barbiere’s Italian Inn. We go inside we’re seated immediately, theres no wait because there’s no one there (that’s the 1 star). Approximately 2-3 minutes later a waitress comes to take our order. We order waters to drink (as I said before, we had a few drinks across the street before coming) and our food. Me chicken Alfredo, him 2 topping pizza. After we order a family comes in and is set behind us. They are given waters within 2 minutes of being seated (before ordering) we sit for an additional 10 mins. Still no waters, nothing. So we left. I will never EVER come here again

Long time, old school neighborhood Italian restaurant – carry out and dining room. I’ve been coming here for 24 + years. Nothing fancy but Quality food, fair prices, great service.
Unique garlic bread is crispy, tasty and buttery. The red sauce — especially the sauce with meat and mushrooms— is outstanding. Good portions, good value.
Was there last night with group of 5 and a couple of things were just a bit off (garlic bread was not as garlicky as typical and the chicken in my cacciatore was fully cooked but not as tender / fall off the bone as usual). I called the restaurant today to let them know and was pleasantly surprised that the owner- steve- was there and he was apologetic and said he would see what happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again. What more can you ask for.
I’ll be back soon for the bread, sauce and good vibe.

OK. The best thing about this place is by far the atmosphere. Very charming, old school place that reminded me of memories of younger days. The sitting area is relatively small that allows for one on one dining without the background noise of larger places. I would say the epitome of family owned business.
Food…… the menu is extremely simple and had a hard time finding appetizers, still not sure if they indulge in them.
We settled with a bowl of minestrone soup and garlic bread, both cheesy and plain. The soup was OK, acceptable but had a slight taste of burnt every once in a while and was warm at best. The garlic bread is confusing because by appearance it would be confused for a competitors bread in the west allis area. Portions are good. Flavor leaves something to be desired. Very little or no garlic flavor. Lots of oil that needed numerous napkins to mop up. Enjoyable but not as good as it could or should be.
The pizza that we ordered was OK. Who says pizza is bad. Just not my style. The crist was a thin style but I would say medium in thickness. Without toppings the crust would be bland. The sauce was very good and plenty of it. Generous toppings with good overall flavor. This pizza is a better day after pizza than right out of the oven.
Over all I would say this place is nice place to visit but would not make it a regular stop. Maybe 3 times a year.
Rating should be 3.5-3.75

This is a very quaint pizza spot. It’s quiet and cozy. The wait staff was very friendly and kind. Very sweet ladies!!! We had the pizza with cheese, sausage and pepperoni. I think I was expecting a more robust pizza, but it was cool. We also had a salad which only consisted of iceberg lettuce and a few grape tomatoes. We also ordered the lasagna. I absolutely loved the butter bread. It was incredibly crunchy with no garlic salt or spread which was a plus for me. Please get the lemonade! Very refreshing!!! Overall, we enjoyed our visit! If you want a quiet pizza place to just chill, this is the spot for you!

We generally have great pizza but tonight the cheese was all over the box even though it was flat in my car and wasn’t sliding around. The garlic bread is usually crispy but was cold and soggy.
