Great looking pub style menu.
Fish N Chips… steak fries came out crispy & fluffy and seasoned. Glad to see malt vinegar was available. Tartar sauce is clearly made in house, reasonable better than most packaged products. Fish… not over cooked however no salt on the outside after frying and very greasy. Oil temp was too low. Plenty of lemon too.

This place was recommended by a friend who attended SUNY Brockport back in the day. He promised the food was absolutely worth going for. Just to be clear and upfront it is a small local bar/restaurant. You order at the bar, you kinda bus your own table, and you have check back in to pay. The kind of place that most people would not go to unless you were from the area! Well don’t be fooled into skipping by this place. The food was amazing!!! You absolutely have to get the balboa. It is a sandwich that you will never find anywhere else. It is a loaf of garlic bread, toasted and then your choice of grilled meats and cheese. It is a must try. Lots more f great options for homemade fries and chips that were also delicious. Don’t let the bar atmosphere scare you the food was great and the staff were super friendly!

Barbers is an absolute MUST if you’ve never been! The service, atmosphere and food are tremendous. Every time we visit, I order their BLT. I’ve had quite a few through the years and hands down, Barber’s has the best one I’ve had. Make sure you get it on rye bread. Delish. The wings were made extremely well and crispy just like my husband asked them to be cooked. The mild sauce had the littlest bit of heat which was tasty
Barber’s really is a fantastic little bar/grill to hang out when the weather is nice outside. Just because the main street bridge is out, don’t pass this place up. It’s so worth it!!

Always great. Monday is $1 wing night. Ruben balboa is awesome. Tots are fantastic. Fish sandwich is the real deal, not “patties”. Highly recommend. Great little town grill and bar

Edit 7/22/25. Stopped in with friends for dinner. Decided to order the Poutine Barboa full size (21.00+) I was suprised to find out it was only an 8″ sandwich at best. For 21.00 I expected a “SANDWWICH”. To be fair it was awesome just not worth 21.00 My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich that was so tough it was inedible. She had to say something. The girl behind the bar said that’s the way their chicken is which is a lie. We have had the chicken before and it’s been fine. Not sure what’s going on there but if you read this, I could have gone to the Dakota in Hilton and had a strip steak with a baked and a salad for a few bucks more.

My fish fry was really dripping grease and didnt taste like a good piece of fish and the steak fried were so dark and hard as they were overcooked and greasy tasting and feeling
The garlic parm chicken wings didnt take of garlic at all nor did they of parmesan – o flavor and no seasoning like garlic or parm
Waste of money
And very disappointed-totally dissatisfied.

Overall a classic old-school village bar with great food, served late. I came here with a friend for my long-overdue first visit on Sunday afternoon (4/2). We split an order of 25 wings, well done. In their menu description, they say the wings are plump and juicy. This is almost an understatement. They were huge, perfectly moist, with just the right crispiness and amount of sauce. We split the sauces (buffalo medium and honey BBQ) and had leftovers. Tasted like a million bucks, the perfect cap a great weekend. We had to wait about 45 minutes given their small grill area, but I’m not one to complain about food wait time, especially good wings. This also gave us plenty of time to watch other food being made like their classic Barbacoa sandwiches (which looked huge and amazing), leaving future visits for these to be desired. I can’t speak to the quality of the bar, but I plan on many more opportunities.

Our favorite local tavern. Sandwiches and salads are huge and delicious. Huge draft menu including ciders and seasonal flavors. You order food at the bar and they bring it to you. Outdoor seating is fun when the weather cooperates.

Good sandwich (old fashioned, with horseradish mayo) served on nice crusty bread and well cooked, tender beef. A little seasoning during cooking would elevate this sandwich. Curly fries seemed fresh and they were tasty, though they’d be better if they were crispy. Nice selection of draft beers. My Molson tasted a bit “off” (though not “bad”) a sure sign the draft lines have not been cleaned lately. Bottled next time.
Overall = good, not great.
Would love to see those little extras with the food, and a boost in hygiene for the beer lines.
Will come back to try a burger, and fish fry Friday.
