We went here during Lexington bbq festival because the festival itself had no BBQ except a sandwich. The food here was not great either. I thought Lexington was well known for it’s BBQ? This restaurant had no brisket, no ribs. Just plain chopped or sliced pork or chicken on bone. Not good. Sides ok. Sauce runny and no flavor. What a disappointment

We came to dine since the Lexington bbq was closed for holidays, and it was totally disappointing ♀️ who added this place to the list of iconic NC bbq being in the same city with Lexington bbq, it should not consider a bbq because it doesn’t taste like that!
Meat didn’t have smoked flavor, and some pieces were uncooked. They have few side dishes where 2 of them are slaws, and all are just horrible.
Service is no good either. No interaction, no advertising of what they’re famous for (probably they know that there are better places to eat around )

Good sized portions on the barbecue sandwich. Two sandwiches were$13. Barbecue itself was just ok. Nothing amazing. No taste of wood/smoke so I’m not convinced it’s really pit cooked. Glad I finally checked it off my ‘cue bucket list.

We’ve been going here for years as a family. Servers are amazing, food is really really the best bbq in NC, hands down. Sides are fresh, always hot. This is THE NC BBQ restaurant to go to.
