Barbacoa began serving common sense food in 1999 by providing simple, quickly prepared meals with fresh, wholesome ingredients. We have been serving natural, non-processed food for our customers before it was popular to do so, because we believe our customers deserve to eat well at a fair price. From any Barbacoa location you can watch as your burrito, taco, salad or soup is prepared in front of you. As it moves down the line, you choose the meat (or no meat), black or pinto beans and fajita vegetables. Then it’s topped as you like it with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and your choice of salsa.

The flavors are vibrant and delicious, my wife even said she liked it better than Cafe Rio. The staff were quick at building our food bowls. If you’re vegetarian, you can get fajitas as your protein choice.

Came to the Salt Lake location and can’t say enough good things about Barbacoa. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices are much lower and better quality food than their competitors. We order a burrito and a burrito bowl. Definitely coming back! Only feedback would be to maybe include pictures on their menu to know what you’re ordering when in the location.

Came in to use my birthday coupon.! Ordered a double honey sweet pork burrito. Noticed it look different then usual and asked if it was honey, he assured me it was. Went to checkout to pay and he said I can apply the code when I scan my card. Got charged, unable to use birthday code. Then noticed the receipt said – what I thought it was – spicy pork. Not honey sweet. I’ve been coming to this location for over 17 years. This was not up to what I expect. The burrito was still good but after two misses that were easy fixes – make a new burrito and reverse the charge and let me type in my number…easy putts guys.

My go-to lunch/dinner spot in the 9th & 9th area. Consistently great food, and super friendly staff. As I took the first bite of my enchilada style burrito, “Just What I Needed” by The Cars started playing. A burrito from Barbacoa was once again just what I needed.

First time but won’t be the last. Barbacoa Mexican Grill has a menu that’s different from the other Mexican chain restaurants. Staff recommended I try both the spicy beef and the spicy pork. I’m glad I tried them both because they were delicious! Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the mood for something a little different.
