Server was very nice, but very slow. He almost messed up my daughter’s order and he DID mess up my husband’s order. Beans were way too salty and had I realized the rice had corn in it I would not have gotten it as I cannot eat corn. Also didn’t expect the chicken inside the chimichanga to be filled with tomatoes and peppers. I can’t eat vegetables so I had to pick around everything.
Food looks pretty, but fairly tasteless. My daughter’s taco salad was so watery from the chicken that the bottom was just soup and she didn’t even eat it honestly. Moved here from IA and a bit disappointed. We were super excited to have a Mexican food restaurant near us. Not sure we will stop in again.

Been yrs since I last ate at Barajas and that was when they were located in International Falls MN. Ordered the Burrito Rancheros and it was identical and delicious as last time I had it. I will definitely revisit. Owner and staff are very accommodating and would definitely visit more often if I wasn’t 3.5 hrs away

This was our first visit and we’ll be back. My husband ordered the Carnitas lunch meal, and it was DELICIOUS! The best carnitas in the Brainerd Lakes area.
I ordered a chicken chimichanga meal and was able to substitute the refried beans for extra rice. The cheese sause on it was excellent.

Totally tasteless food. Ordered the pick-two plate with tamale and enchilada, served with rice and beans. The ground beef in the enchilada had no seasoning- not even salt- as If it was simply boiled in water. The corn tortilla was rubbery and tasteless. The Chix tamal was also tasteless. The maize was congealed and pasty- again, no salt and flavorless. This is not authentic Mexican food unless you concede it truly is, but made by a talentless cook who does not even taste their own cooking. The service was attentive and the server took note of my criticism. I feel badly because the people who serve seem honestly attentive to their job duties, but for the cook, and they may well loose their jobs when this restaurant fails because of the quality of the food. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for genuine Mexican food, which includes not only appearance but also authentic flavors.

Had a blast at the meat raffle, but wow… the service was crawling. My sister waited over an hour for her shrimp (and only got it after we reminded them she ordered it). Meanwhile, I watched a couple give up and walk out after 10 minutes of not even being seated. But the real showstopper? My sister asked for lemon with her shrimp, and they brought one garnished with 6 dead fruit flies. The bartender’s explanation? “It was just cut, we have a fruit fly problem.” Well… that’s one way to add protein. EW.

What a wonderful addition to Pequot Lakes is Barrahas’? Such friendly people are Reuben & Gabriella & their family & staff. Their food is awesome & they already have been just so supportive of this community. Everyone needs to stop on in & meet them, try their awesome food & amazing banana margaritas mmm!

We are happy to enjoy a mexican food joint in pequot when the craving strikes, although some times this place can be a hit or a miss, we have had amazing food and service, and then we have had mediocre service and quality even when it’s slow. Also, have showed up and had been closed a couple times. Beware, the building is in rough shape, needs total remodel, so if you don’t look too close at the details, this places does satisfy a hungry for mexican food tummy!

Best Mexican restaurant in the Brainerd Lakes area! I’ve been here a few times now and haven’t been disappointed. Service has been very friendly, prices are average. Portions are generous… burritos are huge! If you like spicy burritos, try the Diablo (pictured) or the Sabanero.

For the burrito and a caption coke it was under 25$ it was amazing for the food and well worth the money. Absolutely will be stopping here again to eat and relax.
