We were greated promptly by Shaina (sp?) and she was well prepared to deliver last night. She went through the menu options and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed this experience so much that all of us thought it felt as if we were dining in someone’s home. The food is thoughtfully prepared as if you were in south America and the family style options allowed us to share and order for the table. The salsas and sauces (Molé) were outstanding and the drinks were as delicious as you’d expect. This place is worth the higher prices, the food and drink quality was outstanding. I’d imagine that most people confuse this as a Mexican food restaurant and it’s definitely not a traditional offering. This is well thought out, with preparation on point and the chef definitely has a style that they’re trying to achieve here. Along with Shaina and her knowledge, we couldn’t have had a more enjoyable experience and we almost tried everything on the short menu. Octopus tostada’s, potatoes and carnitas were mouth watering along with the guac/chips. We were stuffed and perfectly satisfied when our experience was complete. I even invited Shaina to visit Montana where I’m from lol thank you for the pleasant experience and the opportunity to dine with you in your home. A+ (anyone that doesn’t get it will leave a negative review). We got it and LOVED it. WOW

Attended the collaboration with UCR for the Sip with a Scientist event. Sooooo many people joined and was glad to see it.

They provided free bites of carnitas, flaunts, and Papas and everything was great.

We tried a few drinks and the BIGGEST churro I’ve ever seen and everything was great.

Can’t wait to come back.

Been wanting to come by this place, “the farm house”. We were looking to grab a drink before heading out for dinner. This place caught our eye “ni modo”. Directly translated it means “oh well”. Well, we ordered the only bottle of red wine. Not sure the name but the bartender mentioned it was organic, and free of sulfites. A quick sip and my first reaction was “oh well”. We quickly returned it without any hassle from the bartender. We ended up ordering bar drinks. Those turned out to be really good. I also ordered some aguas chilles, bartender explained it wasn’t traditional. He also mentioned that it came with a little habiscus foam. Well when it arrived, you can tell from the picture it was a bowl of foam. Trust me I’m adventurous so I tried it. It was ok. Not my favorite. This classic dish should be acidic and spicy.

A big shout out to our waitress. She was engaging and super attentive.

I will definitely return for second chance.

great new addition to riverside. their happy hour special (5-6pm) was the best! $15 for house mezcal paloma + chicken huarache.

the cocktails were all delicious. 4 natty wines by the glass. food was hit or miss – my favorite was the octopus tostada. the beef cheek taco (not enough flavor/overwhelming number of onions) and quesadilla (literally tasted like bread, no cheese, guacamole was tasty though) was underwhelming.

We tried a few beers even though they weren’t draft, the quality was surprisingly great. The bartender knew how to pour it just right. Sofia greeted us at the front with a warm smile and helped us find a place to sit right away. Great customer service all around. Definitely a solid experience.

This was our first visit to The Collective, and we were genuinely looking forward to enjoying a drink at what appeared to be a great spot for a Friday afternoon.
Unfortunately, the experience fell short from the start. After being seated at the bar, we waited approximately ten minutes without being greeted, acknowledged, or offered menus. We eventually had to reach for menus ourselves. During that time, we observed what appeared to be an operations staff member seated next to us occupying a barstool, and she was provided service before we were.
The lack of basic hospitality and attentiveness was disappointing, especially during what should have been a standard service window at 1:00 p.m. on a Friday. We ultimately decided to leave without ordering.
First impressions matter, and regrettably, this one missed the mark. Based on this experience, we do not plan to return.

Seeing this bar go from pop ups to a brick and mortar space has been an immense pleasure. From the delicately crafted cocktails to the painfully delicious food menu, you can feel the effort and love across every inch of this bar. The food alone will hook you, but the drinks will make this a Riverside staple for years to come. Pair all of that with excellent customer service and the best ambiance in the IE, and you get Bar Ni Modo- my current favorite bar in the world and hopefully yours too. (p.s. get the TQM cocktail and order a side of Salsa Negra with any food item and you won’t be disappointed)

Ordered to go, for pork and beef tacos. They were literally bomb.com. They were literally jaw dropping. They gushed. I blushed. Holy moly they were oh so yummy. 5$ per taco but it’s worth it.
