Bar Moro is a celebration of Iberian and Mediterranean food culture. Our aim is to create a dining experience that is both sophisticated and relaxed. Chef Ben Poremba and team created a menu highlighting the bounty of Spanish artisanal products and food traditions. Bar Moro is as much bar as restaurant, with impressive wine selections exclusively from Spain and Portugal, a special emphasis on Sherry and vinos genorosos, and vermuts and aromatized wines.

Beautiful restaurant. It’s very dark and there are candles sprinkled throughout and a crystal net. We sat at the bar which looks into the kitchen. It is a very small space and lots of hustle and bustle around you. There’s a complimentary coat check.

The entire staff was amazing! Had to try the world’s most expensive cured meat, Iberian ham. Nutty, buttery flavor. Worth it! Christina recommended some great food pairings and brought out extra bread. Courtney recommended an exemplary full bodied red wine. They have a wonderful assortment of canned seafood that pairs well with alcohol.

Great food, great drinks. Love the cod croquettes and lavender gin drink. Would love to go back and try more of the tinned fish and drinks. A lot of the items are overpriced, though. Would have ordered more if they weren’t so far above the price they should be even close to, for example – $30 for some Spanish cheese slices

Probably the most adventurous dining experience we’ve had in St. Louis, and we loved it. Truly unique Spanish cuisine that is prepared to perfection. Bar Moro really does fill a void in the local restaurant scene, and we can’t wait to return.

Felt almost like a speakeasy! Dimmed lights, fancy cocktails, super cozy. The eggplant dish was a little too charred for us but was otherwise good, the chicken was awesome with the skin extra crispy, and the cheesecake dessert was good but also got a little too much heat (black bubbles?).

The place itself is beautiful, and the service was attentive, but the food definitely needs some finesse. The highlight for us was the anchovy toast – it was deliciously balanced between sour and savory. The eggplant was a bit too dense and oily – maybe a dash more lemon or chili could have helped alleviate that. Unfortunately, both of our entrees, the carne asada and squid ink porridge, were not good. In fact, the carne asada came way too charred the first time that it tasted bitter and had to be sent back. The grilled leeks were too salty. The charring didn’t really get better the second time, which made me wonder if it was a problem with the grill itself and not the food. Overall I think the tapas are good, but paired together with the expensive prices I would call the value you’re getting only barely acceptable.

Excellent all around experience. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff to help guide you through the menu. Kitchen does a great job with food timing and never waiting too long between dishes. Definitely recommend.

Such a great menu and atmosphere. If you got the jamón, get their sherry to pair with it. My new favorite restaurant.

Amazing place in my opinion. Food is special and unique – I personally loved it! Had some oysters, pan con tomato, olives, artichokes, a dish i can’t remember of a potato omelette. For dessert the rice pudding and coffee flan. The cocktails are great, love the one with the gin – super sharp!

Simply put, Bar Moro is a great new addition to an already beautiful area of STL. The atmosphere was great, the food and cocktails were great, and it just felt like you wanted to come back again to try something different on their menu.
