I came here for the $3 mimosa, but the food was great and the waiters were super friendly. The Citrus Grilled Salmon I ordered was delicious, and my partner’s NewOrleans Chicken & Shrimp Pasta was also very satisfying. Great restaurant, highly recommended.

My first time at Bar Louie was a great experience. The bartenders were super informative and helpful and the atmosphere was great. Specially bartender, Nathalie, made great drinks and was even informative of what alcohol was gluten free or not. Great time.

Very disappointing experience at this Bar Louie on Friday, Dec. 12. After being there for a few hours, I asked the DJ to play Latin music. DJ Timo played two bachata songs, and the response was immediate—the dance floor filled up and guests were clearly enjoying themselves. Before the second song even ended, the music was abruptly changed back to hip-hop and the dance floor emptied. When I asked the DJ about it, he explained that the on-duty manager, Ashley, had instructed him that he was no longer allowed to play any Latin music at all. Even he seemed confused, especially since the crowd response had been so positive, but said he had to follow management’s orders. When we approached Ashley to ask why Latin music was no longer allowed, she became defensive and focused entirely on denying that she was being called racist, rather than explaining her decision. No clear reasoning was ever provided for why an entire genre tied to a culture was suddenly off-limits.
A manager banning a specific type of music—especially when patrons are clearly enjoying it—raises serious concerns about inclusivity. Ashley’s handling of the situation felt dismissive and unwelcoming, and it completely killed the vibe of the night. We ended up leaving shortly after. This experience directly contradicts Bar Louie’s stated values about listening to the neighborhood and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, under Ashley’s management that night, we did not feel welcomed or respected. I hope corporate leadership takes this incident seriously and ensures a more inclusive environment moving forward.

I have been coming in for the last few weeks and always see Devin. I was in there again tonight and even when he is busy, he is so kind and makes our experience so pleasant every time. He remembers our drinks and knows the menu so well. He is the reason we keep coming back, one of the best bartenders I have ever had. This bar is lucky to have him !
