I went to Bar Louie for brunch today, and I have to say, I left pleasantly surprised. This is a place I used to enjoy more for the social atmosphere than the food. In the past, I honestly wasn’t a fan of the meals, but it was always a fun spot to hang out, grab drinks, and socialize because the vibe is consistently lively and upbeat.
Today, though, it seems like the food has improved.
I ordered the Sweet Thai Chili Wings, and they were hands-down the highlight of my meal — super flavorful, perfectly sauced, and genuinely delicious. I also tried the Louie Breakfast, which came with eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. I added a side of fries, and those fries were amazing — fresh, hot, well-seasoned, and honestly one of the best parts of the plate.
The breakfast also included donut holes, which I didn’t love. The chocolate sauce had a strange aftertaste that threw it off for me, but everything else was served hot and tasted fresh.
My friends both ordered the Chicken Clucker, and they absolutely loved it, so it seems like there are some strong brunch options across the board.
Service was good today — attentive, friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. The DJ was great!
Overall, Bar Louie still delivers on what it’s always been great for: a fun, social environment. But now, it feels like the food is finally catching up to the atmosphere. I’d definitely come back again — especially for those Sweet Thai Chili Wings and the fries.

Omg what a great experience!! Fawn is by far the best bartender! Amazing drinks and stellar service! Our first time here and Fawn told us the burgers were amazing And there were! Good was for, the service was Immaculate! Toni took great care of us however I did have an issue with the fact that a side order of french fries was $5.25 and a side order of truffle size was $5.95. I ordered the beef sliders which came with a side of fries but if I wanted to upgrade them to truffle fries it was a $3 up charge. There’s only a .70 cent difference on the menu so why is there a $3 difference in the upcharge??? I brought this to the attention of the manager and nothing was done about it they said it was above them and it was a Bar Louie concern…

Visited Bar Louie on a Saturday after a burger spot in Brier Creek was closed at 11p. This was a great option as it was in close proximity , has good wings, decent cocktail variety and good service. Owen was the waiter and he was very attentive. They have music and tv’s to watch news/sports. There’s brunch available as well. I plan to check that out one of these days.

Came in for a celebratory lunch and the bartender Fawn made me 2 lemon drops and these have got to be 2 of the best that I have had in Raleigh. Then I proceeded to order some wings and a burger. Wings was so good I couldn’t even eat my burger but definitely taking it to go!!!

Get the MEAN BEAN! The food was delicious. The calamari was cooked perfectly. Not all restaurants can nail that so well so kudos to the chef! Our waitress Toni was delightful and very attentive!

I was not expecting the crowd I encountered. Bear Louie’s in Covington, Kentucky, my only other experience, was not a hot spot. Bar Louie’s in Raleigh on Friday night seems to be the place to be. The music was great, the people were enjoying themselves, courteous (as only down south people know how to be), and fun. The only down side was one rude waitress, easily avoidable. I had a great time.

First time eating here. It’s surprisingly big inside. No problem getting a high top table. Our waitress was quick and nice. The menu was really good. We will eat there again. My only complaint was the music was very loud.
